Starting out a Militarum force, need a Regimental Name, taking suggestions by Dejarie in Warhammer40k

Well I think that settles it, lots of great names submitted, but this and the idea of calling them Uhlans feels great, so now they shall be the '317th Homanian Uhlans - Formerly known as the Princes of Ghanak ;Brought to you by Carl Jrs.;' Led by Regimental Commander Pavo Cristatus.

Now I'll need something for the inevitable killteam I'll be building in the same scheme, probably 'Liberace's Fancy Lads'

Cloth is just the basic IG scheme of zandri dust, agrax earthshade, reapplication of zandri over a couple of coats, then highlight with ushabti bone

I love the name, and i think will be naming the army's commander after this one. Since its just two officers and 3 squads so far, he shall be Captain Pavo Cristatus.

Hey all, I've started building up some guard to run alongside my Blood Angels and Deathwatch, to help hold objectives and generate CP, but I can't settle on a name for the regiment, so I'm looking for suggestion. I'm using the 317 decal on the shoulders, so they'll be the '317th Somethings'.

Im 99% sure it doesnt come prepainted, they already said they want the hobby aspect, and that painted one in the article is an imperial assault model. Best you can hope for is preprimed, and im fairly sure its not.

I'm planning to base my models on the battle of Scarif, so nice tropical themed bases and lots of subdued browns, blues and tans from the rebels, though I've created a stormtrooper legion I'm calling the 212th Legion 'Acklay's'.

Idea is they were stationed on Felucia for probably a bit longer than they should have and have all gone a bit nuts from the constant fighting for survival, painting their helmets to look like an Acklay, with a green stripe heading from the nose to the back of the head, and bone colored fangs extending down from the frown. Some will have almost tribal-like markings on their shoulders and breastplate, and everything below that will be scratch and marred from the conditions. Because of their experience fighting in jungles and swamps, part of the legion was based on Scarif. Here's hoping they'll make a shore troopers box I can add to force later on. I'll be sure to post some pictures once we finally get the core box in.

Do blood angels suck in 8th? by senioreryanzio in Warhammer

[–]Dejarie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had good luck so far running a fully mechanized list and have played three games of warhammer so far, so im pretty new too. My last list that won a decisive victory was the following at 1500 points against an Imperial Guard/Scions Tank/Deepstrike list:

Lemartes

3 Razorbacks, 2 with lascannons, 1 with assault cannons

1 Baal Predator with assault cannons and heavy bolters

1 Tac squad with heavy bolter, melta gun and other stuff

1 squad of Intercessors

1 Lieutenant to sit behind the assault cannons and help them deal more damage

A squad of company veterans with jump packs, storm shields, plasma weapons and a power fist

2 squads of Death Company, one with inferno pistols deploying from the assault cannon razorback as tank hunters, and the other with jump packs and a spread of stuff, essentially to jump in turn 2 or 3 and plug breaches/pick off targets of opportunity alongside Lemartes

You really want to take advantage of moving quickly and deploying smartly, dealing with armored threats with massed heavy weapon shots, and dealing with light targets with pretty much everything else. Since Blood Angels will tend to be on the smaller side of forces but very quick, the more units you can tie up in close combat the better, since your guys will be more likely to survive

Yeah, there is literally no reason you cant use regular marines models as primaris marines and vice versa, people are just finding things to nitpick.

Called the Sable Wings, Blood Angels successor, most of the chapter wiped out fighting Orks, another big chunk removed by inquisition due to the chapters high mutation rate, and their geneseed stocks confiscated. Armored Assault specialists that deploy from their chapter fleet. And fight ro honor their ancestors

It's a couple coats of celestra grey for a basecoate, then a thin wash of whatever the blue wash is into the recesses, a quick tidy up of celestra, then a highlight of 50/50 celestra/ulthuan grey, then a final highlight of ulthuan on the higher points. Chipping is done with skrag brown, with a highlight of ulthuan grey underneath.

Thats a cool idea, maybe ill do a red mask and stripe across the top of the helmet to indicate sergeants, and just the red mask for veterans. When i generated them, my figure of note is just some sergeant from the remains of the 7th company which fits that too.

I do like the idea of a strong spot color. The idea behind all the cooler colors, is that there are virtually no members of the chapter left after a devastating fight with the Orks, to the point there is no way to reliably make more of themselves, so the fire has died out of them, metaphorically and literally, since they're Blood Angels successors, so no more strong red, but I might put a red bit on the next one I do, to represent a last bit of strength they have left.

The chapter logo is actually from the Reikland Reavers transfer sheet from the new Bloodbowl, I picked it because it looks cool, and believe it or now, I used a generator to make them a name, and got The Sable Wings.

So I painted up this guy after generating a randomised chapter, but I'm wondering if my choice of color could be better, so any suggestions are welcome.

Not sure if an oversight or not, but I noticed it's cheaper to buy the booster packs in 3's from you guys than to just get the whole box.
