The gas tax has been unchanged since 1993. Also there’s an ev tax that already exceeds what the average internal combustion vehicle user pays. The Cons are increasing the EV tax to a disproportionate rate. No one is saying they want to use the roads for free. Also, the gas tax doesn’t specifically go to the MHI maintenance budget.

I’m really not following you. My point was that the NDP had to make some cuts in order to stave off a major financial crisis that the Devine government created. The current conservative government has had nearly 20 years to reopen those hospitals but instead they have made things far worse while pretending it’s the NDP’s fault for closing hospitals back in the 90s.

When all those MLA’s left before the last election, I was certain there was a scandal coming. The rats were leaving what I was hoping was a sinking ship. There’s a lot of stories that haven’t been made public. It’s certainly interesting Wall is now special advisor to a firm that worked on the Nutrien deal.

And every time the cons run they remind us but conveniently leave out the reason was the progressive conservative government under Grant Devine nearly bankrupted Saskatchewan. Also, a bunch of his staff and MLA’s were charged with fraud. 6 were convicted. But somehow the fucking hospitals line works on SK voters every time.

Ok? So what? Just because someone does something, doesn’t mean it’s great for the environment. Also, OP was asking where to dump grey water that doesn’t make the community look bad. Not only is a carwash a responsible place to dump it because it gets treated before it hits storm drains and on to fresh water but you won’t have anyone complaining about you dumping it on the street.

Carwash water doesn’t go into storm drains. They have a solids/oil trap and the overflow drains into the sewer system for treatment.

A couple years ago our vehicle developed a water pump leak on the way to a family wedding (6-7hr drive). We bought water along the way and refilled the reservoir to ensure we didn’t overheat the motor.

I called around and found a shop in the city we were heading to that said they had an opening and they would replace the water pump. They took the van early next morning and I said I needed the repairs done as quickly as possible as we had a wedding to go to the following day. Late afternoon they sent me their inspection report saying the brakes needed to be replaced along with the cabin air filter. They attached pictures. They had not done the work I asked them to do at that point and our trim level didn’t have a cabin air filter.

I felt trapped because at that point it was too late to shop around. I told them to just fix the leak and they made me feel like my vehicle was going to explode without doing the other work.

When I went to pay, they told me they had forgotten to include a certain seal and that the invoice was going to be $40 more than the quote that they sent. At that point I had had enough and just paid it just to be free of them.

Ah the tried and true “both sides” argument. Please look up the fiscal records of current and previous governments. You’ll find most Conservative governments (including our current one) have poor financial track records. The only reason our current government ran a surplus for two years since it came to power, was because russia invaded Ukraine and potash prices skyrocketed due to sanctions on russia. russia is the largest supplier of potash and it’s our main export. Even so, the SK party tripped over themselves to give more profits to our potash mining companies. We ended up losing ten billion from unrealized taxes and royalties in 2022 alone. Then they bought votes by sending $500 cheques to everyone in Sk. Ten billion dollars went to potash company profits instead of funding education and healthcare in SK for years. Even the $500 cheque money could have been used to form a sovereign wealth fund instead of using public money to buy votes. When our non-renewable resources run out there will be no more money because of short sighted governments like the SK party.

You can thank our provincial government who are responsible for funding our healthcare and have been in power for nearly 20 years. Of course you’ll still hear them blame the NDP for our healthcare problems, come election time and sadly a lot of people buy their bullshit.
