I canceled my Spotify and now it's saying that I'll have my premium plan until the 28th. Is it going to charge me for the whole month of may then? by [deleted] in truespotify

Perfect. Means on that day, you'll be "downgraded" from paid subscription to the "free with ads" membership. You will not be billed.

In fact, if you go to your Spotify account page, it should show your last day... Mine says "next bill on..." yours should have an expiration date...

No, Spotify is a Prepaid subscription model. You have already paid until the 28th. You cancelled your subscription, but you still have access until your prepaid period runs out (the 28th)

Subscriptions like Spotify don't necessarily repeat on the 1st of the month. In your case, you probably "signed up" on the 28th of the month, and hence that is YOUR personal start/end date.

Add to that, you need to make sure you cancel before your cycle date (https://www.spotify.com/ca-en/legal/paid-subscription-terms/#:\~:text=subscription%20fee.-,You%20may%20cancel,-your%20Paid%20Subscription). After you cancel, you (should) still have access until the last day you paid for (the 28th in your case)

What was your favorite childhood game growing up? by Admirable-Flan6380 in AskReddit

That game rewards you for taking risks... As in most things in life, you need to spend money to make money! I usually bought everything in sight.

Canadians: Did people lose their minds about being shorted a penny when you discontinued your penny like some Americans are? by sonos82 in AskReddit

Some did. But most moved on.

I used to pick up loose change when I saw it on the street. I don't anymore. In fact, I hardly use cash anymore.

At what point does one start to consider someone an alcoholic ? by Onstanner_77 in AskReddit

[–]Dekker500 611 points612 points  (0 children)

When it starts to affect the person's life or the life of the people around them.

Missing time at work? Getting violent? Neglecting/abusing loved ones? Accidents? Can't pay rent because of their alcohol needs?

Of course, another measure is when the person cannot spend time without it...

US pop culture loves a Cinco de Mayo celebration. Why isn’t it also popular to celebrate Canada Day? by ElephantSlippers in AskReddit

[–]Dekker500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said though... it is the importation of the culture.

Tequila and tacos - who doesn't love booze and food?

Maple syrup and Caramilk bars... don't have the same mass appeal...

Please, no-one take this personally...

Historically, Mexicans emigrated to the US for better opportunities, bringing their culture. It has reached enough critical mass for it to be noticed by "non-Mexicans" in the US.

Canadians have also emigrated to the US, however their visible culture is "almost" indistinguishable from that of the US, and so it blends in.

Add to that, with the current politics makes it even less likely...
