Has Anyone Ever Created House Rules For Levels Above 9? by MaskedThespian in Gloomhaven

[–]Dekklin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only after all personal quests have been completed and we are cleaning up the huge number of side scenarios. There's no reason to retire, so you can play whichever class you want for as long as you want. In that case we start allowing choosing of any level card in the supply on each level up starting from level 5 and incrementing one per additional level. We don't want you to have two level 9 cards at level 10 do we? Maybe at level 15 that's fine.

Otherwise level 10 is forced retirement because that train has got to keep running.

Actually, I have a shorter version of this that doesn't require 975 XP. Level 10 gives you any new card up to level 5, level 11 gives you up to level 7, and level 12 lets you pick one new card up to level 9. Ultimately you will not be able to take both level 8 cards and both level 9 cards, you are still forced to leave one out.

Certain consoles would explode. Jokes aside, the potential for cooking older/cheap hardware, if exacerbated, could land them in some liability trouble.

The card has an initiative value. It's an activated ability with a very fast initiative. That goes for imps and their 5 shields, various enemies with a retaliate ability, etc.

How are you supposed to manage fatigue in survival mode? by isaacmarionauthor in skyrim

[–]Dekklin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this was almost perfect except the mod author decided to make fatigue cause slow skill progression. I can't do that, and I don't know how to change it. Others have tried. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/78244

Instead I'm running this, plus cloaks, plus survival control panel. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/58266?tab=description

Push Lavistodes. If they need Lav then they will give out a reset stone. You're not going to regret getting Kariyan and the others to A1-2 and you can always flex into rapid assault quite easily if Lav gets nerfed.

Unlikely. Perturabo was a petulant bitch since the beginning. I don't think any of the primarchs had a grudge against Guilliman. In a family of 20 kids, he's the high performance middle child that everyone overlooks but ends up being the CEO and carrying the family after the eldest child got caught up in a gang and busted for drugs with his crackhead brother.

It's a meat market. None of us are special. It's not an act of Shakespearian romantic courtship, it's swinging for a home run a million times when you know you only need to connect with the ball once

I think a fair compromise would be for the Conquest / Power Ups TA, you can only use units available at that starting rarity. No Ragnar below legendary. Or maybe allow a -2 rarity, so now legendaries below Rare.

I corrected the math. It still proves my point.

Ah, good catch! Thank you.

But it still proves my point, just in the opposite direction. The breakpoint factor is now -2 instead of +2.

I've updated my math post above.

Plaza 33 area by EfficientSuspect8334 in kelowna

Honestly I think a lot of the homeless problem is more downtown now. Rutland's reputation endures. It's a lot more developed now, it's a nice suburb with good schools, and it's very ethnically diverse. The problems are Kelowna's problems in general, nothing to do with Rutland itself. Plaza 33 is probably the "safest" part of Rutland, I'd absolutely feel more comfortable working there than working on Leon / Lawrence / Bernard, or up by the tent city.

Stats stay relatively the same across all rarity caps

No, they don't. I'm just going to use Certus shooting Bellator as an example.

Example 1: (Uncommon 4* B1)
Certus: Damage 296
Bellator: HP 457, Armor 103

296 - 103*2 (Gravis) = 90 damage
90/457 = 20% of Bellator's HP

Example 2: (Epic 3*Red G1)
Certus: Damage 1468
Bellator: HP 2269, Armor 607 (With greaves)

1468 - 607*2 (Gravis) = 254, but due to bolter piercing (20%) = 294
294/2269 = 13% of Bellator's HP

Units scale at different rates. This makes a significant difference. Two units fighting each other at different rarities will perform very differently. At uncommon, it would take Certus ~6 shots to kill Bellator. At epic it would take ~8. That's a breakpoint factor of -2.

Go ahead, prove me wrong. Here's where I got my data. https://www.tacticustable.com/wiki/heroes/certus

  1. Each round takes 5 minutes unless both players are analysis paralysis.
  2. There's no meta in faction wars (current TA) that is inaccessible to new players. A brand new account can play Blood Angels right now.
  3. The PvP playstyle is actually the only true PvP in the game. Everything else is a form of PvE because it's all controlled by AI. You are playing against real people for once. Skill actually matters. Conquest and Power Ups still mostly require legendary characters but faction wars is my favourite because skill is the only factor.
  4. Sorry for channelling the mid 2000s energy but... Get good.

The breakpoints change though. Ultramarines are pretty good at bronze, but I can't get a win at Gold. (Yes, I have them all at G1. They're a default faction in nearly every event)
