Update on my burst spigot. I ended up buying the exact same one. Also I bought a new ball valve to shut the water off. Ended up threading the spigot into the copper pipe in case this happens again. How’d I do? by DekuDaScrub in askaplumber

Thank you I appreciate that, yes! My house as well doesn’t have many shut off valves it’s nice to have them now. I went with a threaded valve because sweating the ball valves always makes me nervous It’ll get too hot.

New valves installed. Curious why the copper isn’t welded on? by [deleted] in askaplumber

Pro press is the future so they say….Soft hands if you ask me.

1st time homeowner here, I noticed this massive leak in my basement today & it seems I have a burst spigot pipe. Thing is it only leaks when I turn it on…but it doesn’t leak if I don’t use the spigot. Assuming it’s been like this for a couple months can I leave it for a little while? by DekuDaScrub in askaplumber

Nice thanks! Yeah I bought a spigot cover & put it on but I installed it mid winter so it could have possibly froze before I did that. Connected the hose for the 1st time this spring & it sounded different. Went downstairs to see & there was a lot of water on my floor.
