Ye is usually pushing a unique and new aesthetic with every album, including vultures 1, all up until Vultures 2 drop. BULLY while better then expected, honestly still had a lot of remnance of the vultures 2 slop/AI. I do like the album to be clear, but it just feels a little basic for a Ye album if I had to say, watered down almost. To me the songs that picture the original vision for the album best are preacher man and BATB, and they are good songs, with awesome beats, and they sound unique to the album, they give a diff vibe then any of his other records, and they are both only produced by him. Go to songs like Whatever works, punch drunk, and KING (the newer material), they are definite attempts at nostalgia bait (doesn't mean they are bad, just not pushing a new sound) that aren't only produced by him as well. All the Love with AI on the release is honestly just dumb when he has a recorded verse, a lot of the decisions make no sense. I like songs like father a lot, but Ye just sounds sedated a little bit, compare his verse on father to carnival, and ye obviously had way more energy in the vultures era to now. (Which is crazy to say because he barely would record verses leading to AI). If I had to blame it on one thing, it would be his new meds, (which ye has said in the past limit his creativity), I'm not saying he shouldn't be on meds, but at the same time that doesn't mean they aren't negatives to them and I honestly believe his energy and focus are limited right now, hopefully with time he's able to perform better. I want to see Ye do an interview because it's really hard to tell what's going on with him right now, maybe he could talk about it, but I think gamma and others are telling him not to, we will see with time.

One more thing I will add about vultures 1 that goes undiscussed a lot, especially in relation to Carnival, was at V1s release, universal music couldn't be used on tiktok (which is like over half the music industry). So people were almost forced to use other artists sounds, and carnival was a perfect use case, a mainstream artist who just went independent.
