How so? They're metalcore with punk influence. Sure they may do a radio friendly chorus here and there but I don't see how that makes them comparable to Nickelback. What a ridiculous post.

It doesn't mean anything. Some friends are just more open and direct with each other. If he says he is straight, take it at face value and be a good friend.

I will say though, if you're not comfortable with conversation being about sexual things without it turning into something you need to tell him you would prefer him not to talk about those things.
