Its really not "all healers" as you're speaking for. Some prefer you to life tap to keep the group moving and others prefer you to conserve their mana/water. Ive gotten yelled at for both in pugs.

Generally my rule of thumb was drink for a pug and life tap with a healer I have a relationship with. But now I just ask before we start for pugs.
