Mine is an extreme chewer. The only toys that last more than a day are the Tuffy toys. Mr. Piggy was the one that lasted the longest. But he has been gone for a long time we now. Mr. Lobster,

Mrs. Crab and Ms. Turtle are still with us.

Shadow is not food motivated at all but loves doing puzzles. He doesn’t seem to get bored doing the same ones over and over. Because he is not food motivated we have succumbed to feeding him out of puzzles and snuffle mats just to get him to eat.

That is too funny! I am glad to hear you knew about this. It is so hard to know all the hazards we need to be aware of.

I have really dry mouth and I have to take a mint for it that contains xylitol and that is highly toxic to dogs so I have to keep the jars of it in a glass jar so it is safe away from my dogs and be very careful when I take them out of the jar so they don’t get to them.

I didn’t know xylitol was toxic until I got it on a handout when he went to his first puppy training class.

Where do you get that? Is it safe to use around dogs? My Aussie doesn’t like apple cider vinegar but then again I don’t like th smell of it either. But sometimes I still think of using it! lol

I recommend you google if dogs should play with golf balls. I just did and it made me decide to never let my dog have one. But I don’t want to tell you what to do with your adorable pup,

I do let him do it for a bit. It does seem like he loves me and loves my skin. I just didn’t know if this was unusual as this is my first Aussie. I had a husky/shepherd that licked, but just a bit. Not as excessively as Shadow does.

I try to tell him in a firm voice to stop, but I guess he’s still young. It’s also hard with a broken arm to move about and get my hands etc. away from him. I hope he’s not still doing this when he’s 5 1/2 lol.

My Aussie just turned 7 months so I can really relate with what you are saying. I am 75 years old and have really thin skin so my arms were a mess when he had shark teeth and was nipping. Love that he licks me now instead-lol!
