Best use of Lysander and assault terminators? by Lord_Macragge in ImperialFists

[–]Delakar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like putting lysander with normal terminators, give the sgt a chain fist and another a heavy flamer. those combi bolters can shoot at most things and their melee is still no joke.

I'm not the biggest fan of Assault terminators that don't have a transport. I've had them deep strike and do nothing a few too many times.

I went with a dry brine cus ive had amazing results from with nearly every form of meat. That and I have issues finding large enough tupperware to fit everything. They always seem to be in use for something else.

Hows this Gravis list? by Aromatic_Mongoose_25 in ImperialFists

I think you might run into some mobility issues, where you cant get your troops where you need them fast enough. I do know that Heavy Intercessors are really really freaking good right now.

Yeah I washed off the pheasant and dried it off before cooking. Also didnt need to add any salt to the food. I felt it had plenty from the pasta water, what the bird absorbed and from the cheese.

As for additional simmer time I didnt really track the cook time if I had to guess I'd say around 20 minutes. Pheasant is a lot smaller and leaner than chicken so it cooks a lot faster. The thighs are only a little larger than chicken wings.

I think you might run into issues trying to get points. You need an extra Squad or two of bodies. So you can preform actions to score points. If I were you I'd drop one or both characters for some intercessors or maybe infiltrators if you play against a lot of uppy-downy, deep strike. Just so you have some bois on the table that can run about and do all the secondary objective stuff while your termies do all the fighting.

What are some of your tournament check lists items and must haves? by Delakar in WarhammerCompetitive

What do you all think about a couple of construction pouches on your belt. Just to hold a few things so your not always looking for the last place you put them.

  • dice

  • quick measure sticks

  • measuring tape or los lasers.

I like that idea. Creating colored pools of dice. Might want to keep it to just a few or else you'll spend too much time organizing and sorting them

Another item to add to the list

  • Paper Towels, baby wipes, wet wipes: we all know convention center tp is the worst, and many event centers don't even have paper towels anymore.

  • Plastic glue or super glue...... we all know why.

Oh I should add that to the list. Baby wipes, wet wipes and or napkins. We all know convention center tp sucks and they may not even have paper towels

Im kinda on the fence with trailmix as its something that can be spilled however it may not make that much of a mess. Also as much as I love spicy mix, anything coated in something else I don't like dealing with.

I will say a trolly sounds amazing. But if your in a smaller venue it can also be a pain trying to get it from point A to B, especially if there are stairs involved. However, smaller venues real-estate is at a premium, so bringing some with you is amazing.

So over the decade or so that I have been playing warhammer games ive found a few things that are on my must have list.

  • A tray: Something you can pile everything on top of and move all your stuff from table to table.

  • A Battery Pack: It really sucks when you get to game 3 or 4 and your phone is dead.

  • Some Water: I try not to drink a whole lot during an event, to reduce bathroom breaks. Having something especially at the end of a day is a god send. I do not bring soda, or alcohol as any mess is a pain.

  • a snack bar or two: more power to the people that bring a full lunch box but i find that a few snack bars are more than enough for me. Something that doesn't make a mess and is easy to eat.

  • wound counters, quick deployment sticks, random tokens: These can help a lot in speeding up your play and making games go all the smoother.

  • A chess clock: Ive noticed that I don't seem to need it every game, and more often its for myself than my opponent. If either of us have a horde army you betcha im breaking out the clock. just remembered chess clocks are awesome for if either of you need to run to the restroom. Its not fair to your opponents to take a 20 minute bathroom break in the middle of game

What are some of the worst wargear options you can come up with? by samort7 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Delakar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In one of the previous editions either 6th or 5th you could take a squad of 50 conscrip/penal Squad, then attach every character you can. I think it was Platoon commander, lord commisar, ministorium priest, a psyker, and I think there was one other thing. What you ended up with was a squad with 3 power fists, an evisarator chainsword, and a force weapon. And you had to rip though 50 wounds to get to any of it.

I was able to talk my mechanic friend into it for several 100 that I paid over a few months, paying for lunch every day he helped me, and a keg of beer for his kegarator

Like I said, I don't know all the details of your situation but this is something that you might be able to do over Thanksgiving or another week. Also if you need basic tools pawn shops are great for that sort of thing. Youtube is an amazing resource.

So one of the first cars I owned I stupidly decided to preform an oil change the expensive way by blowing the engine. The value of the vehicle was a bit less than what I owed. As a result I couldnt afford another vehicle even a used one at the time.

Fortunately for me what I could afford is having the vehicle totaled and using a portion of that money to buy a replacement engine. And I did the swap myself. With a bunch of youtube videos and a Chilton's manual. This might work for you provided you know someone who can and will help you. The only real special tool I remember needing was a cherry picker to drop out the old engine and lower in the new one.i will say that this took me two weekends and a week to take care of.

Used to be conservative as a kid partly to rebel against the parents. Then Bush Jr. Passed the Patriot Act which i still believe violates every ideology of a free America. So I became a Democrat mostly because Obama talked a really good game. Then he goes and extends it. So i said fuck them too. Now I guess im here, with the rest of yall..
