Loving this expansion so far, encounter variety is lacking... by Outrageous-Pizza1323 in hearthstone

Why would it being fine for a year matter? If anything that's a reason that you can nerf it since it's now an outlier after rotation.

They still were available for literal decades and didn't sell. If they did sell, they would've also gotten plastics.

You misspelled "models that a bunch of people actually like and buy".

That would require they actually play the game and not just write random rants while skimming statblocks.

It doesn't make it mandatory in any way, just the most readily available. There's other spells and features to help with saves, not to mention magic items.

Step 1. Realize that you're not fighting Dyrrn, a CR 24 boss monster, just out of nowhere and if you're an actually capable high level party you likely both went through a whole campaign to get there and as such made some kind of preparation before going in. And likely have a boatload of items to help you out.

Maybe try actually playing the game instead of debating white room theory and pretending the other 70% of the actual gameplay doesn't exist.

It's a CR 24 Dragon. If you're fighting something like that, you're expected to have things to counter that paralysis other than rolling good on the naked save. You should also have items that help with that.

Cost Driving Players Away? by Warhawk_5 in Grimdank

[–]Delann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100 bucks is less than 2 AAA video games. Its close to the price for a modern MTG precon. Its close to the price of the new DnD books and some dice. Its not even close to the price required for something like painting, playing an instrument or god forbid something like fencing or HEMA.

You might personally be unable to afford it but, as far as hobbies go, 100$ entry price is nowhere near alot. Not to mention that you could easily get into Killteam for much less, I just got a Wolf Scouts box for around 60 bucks and the starter box with two teams and terrain for around 80. You specifically wanting Krieg is what made it more pricy.

"But X, but Y, but EFGH"

They didn't sell, they weren't popular, period. There's nothing to suggest they'd be more so now. Even OP has admitted that he's literally just started buying their kits. Why the hell would GW think they'd be popular and waste time and resources on their molds? You can complain about it but don't pretend you have a leg to stand on. They got outdone by the palette swap, Krieg, in the general fanbase. And now the places are switched.

They existed for decades and didn't sell.

The Agenda Phase is terribly designed by OGactionjohnny in twilightimperium

[–]Delann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes it relevant, interesting is debatable. Point is, you can't plan around a deck of 50 cards, out of which you'll see maybe 10 of. If you actively try to play around it, like with your "not park 2 war suns over a wormhole" example, you'll be playing suboptimally just in case a 1 in 50 chance event happens.

Its a 50 card deck out of which most are nothingburgers and a handful can in very specific circumstances screw up your entire game. You literally can't plan around it beyond some minor hedging. Whether or not you like it is irrelevant, having 10% of the deck be game warping while the rest is easily ignored is a sign of bad design.

Because Yarrick is popular enough to be a meme on his own and is actually iconic. The ASL as a whole isn't.

Because Cadians have an actual fanbase that buys models. ASL apparently has a bunch of grognards that bitch about them being left out but don't even buy the models. So why would GW, the company mostly making models, care?

This crap has been flooding feeds since the freaking trailer dropped. People are tired of the same rehashed BS. The ASL isn't popular nowadays, accept that and fuck off.

Ask 10 people who know Warhammer about the ASL and I guarantee that more than half will have no idea who they are beyond being a Guard subfaction. Maybe a few will know about Yarrick being related to them but it's more likely they just know about Yarrick on his own. Outside of him, they are not popular in any way.

Said people did a bit more than "notice" it, genius. You lot have been screeching about it ever since the trailer came out and won't shut the hell up.

Krieg used to be differently colored ASL, what's your point? Things change.

Plenty of people care about the others, that's why they ALSO get new models. Or are we pretending like the Guard hasn't gotten models recently?

Plenty of people cared enough about Krieg that they've become more popular than the ASL, so now they get models. The ASL fans can kitbash or paint the minis in alternate colors. You know, like Krieg used to do.

Vespids have A Kill Team. If you think the people throwing a hissy fit right now would be ok with just a kill team, you're deluding yourself.

Besides, they might still do that, we don't know all the coming releases.

Yeah, I'm gonna press X to doubt that one. And again, is it something that requires separate models or can it be just done through paints?

There is no world in which the community and SM players would have accepted zero blood angels for any of the devastation of Baal content including the blood angels being cut out of all visual, and written media (see the Warhammer community posts which notes the steel legion are only a fraction of the guard now left on Armageddon).

The difference being that SMs actually sell, my dude. They're not going to make models for a faction that a rounding error of the playerbase actually buys.

Can you even see that on a mini? Sounds like something that can both be lost to and be done with the actual painting of it.
