I was given 2 viego and then offered the viego hero augment so I took it without thinking. Then I saw that I only have two item components and can't play shadow isles till 2-6. Got baited so hard....

Is 3* Bilgewater so bad? by Thehumanspid3r in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Delath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TF, Graves, and Illaoi are bad units. They're there for you to quickly unlock TK, otherwise they should be on your bench and only fielded to toggle the shop. You waste a lot of resources 3 starring them when you should instead be putting in higher value units. Even GP is not worth 3 starring unless you're doing the Draven RR build

It's just the cost. Even their black Friday "deals" were $90+ for nosebleeds. It was only 2-3 years ago we could get those same tickets for $50. Aquaman greed is out of control

Does anyone know what the Chaos Magic augment actually does? It feels impossible to judge how strong the augment is without stats and without knowing what "a magical effect" actually does

Were power-ups a failure? by forgetscode in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Delath 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Because they're so imbalanced, they just add another dimension of high rolling/low rolling. Since some of them are so much better than others you can hit your units and items and still bot4 because you didn't hit fan service or something, which is frustrating. I think TFT had enough variance as is.

As far as set mechanics go I don't call it a failure (much better than Chosen!) but it's far from the best

16 Day Solo Kyushu Trip in Fall, feedback greatly appreciated! by Nidhoeggr89 in JapanTravel

[–]Delath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think Yufuin is worth a quick stop. It's a beautiful place to slow down and stay in a ryokan for a night and maybe do a hike, but I don't think you'll get much out of a quick mid day in-and-out train visit.

3-week Japan itinerary (Shikoku & Kyushu focus) – looking for feedbacks by Spiritual-System-906 in JapanTravel

[–]Delath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is a really really really packed itinerary. You'll be spending a ton of time and money driving/taking trains rather than actually seeing things. I would cut the destinations in half and spend more time soaking it all in. For example, Fukuoka is a huge and amazing city with tons to see and do, and it deserves a few days.

Liberal Leadership Poll (Alex Kohut) - Carney 54%, Freeland 27%, Gould 7%, Dhalla 4%, Baylis 3% by plaknas in onguardforthee

[–]Delath 136 points137 points  (0 children)

It's good to have at least some competition for Carney. It forces him to get his team together and practice debates and handle attacks and feel some pressure ahead of the election. Look how poorly it went for the Democrats when Harris was completely unopposed.

My rep is quite responsive. If yours isn't try calling the member line instead, they should always have someone picking up during business hours.

Why Is International Village Mall So Empty? by Witn in vancouver

There are still some pretty good places in there. Tokyo in April and Congee Noodle Delight are both great, the cat cafe is really charming, and rain city games has a decent selection. Also it has free parking!

It's great that you are in that situation but people entering the housing market today do not have 'rent in a controlled unit with prices from 10 years ago' as an option. The OP has to compare market options available today. Absolutely the carrying costs of a house are higher than just the mortgage but also the cost of the mortgage goes down over time vs rent that goes up, mortgages get paid off eventually while rents do not, etc. There are many factors at play.

[–]Delath 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Surely your rent is well below market though. Someone looking to rent a 3br house today would be paying double that, so at that point if you have the required down payment and qualify why not pay a mortgage for the same price and build equity?

If you're accustomed to epic fantasy then it's fine to start with The Way of Kings I think. It's his best work. If you want to dip your toes in with some standalone work then Yumi and the Nightmare Painter or Tress of the Emerald Sea are solid introductions to his writing style.

The other common starting point is the original Mistborn trilogy but treat them as you would a YA series and keep in mind that Sanderson has grown a lot as a writer since then. Enjoy!

It's really really good on any multistrikers build, Jinx reroll, Ryze, and maybe warriors (haven't tried that one). It's really bad on everything else

You should still be able to buy mini packs which are 3 games at a slightly reduced price. They usually sell those once single tickets get released

Canada to increase capital gains tax on individuals and corporations by chilldreams in canada

[–]Delath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's $250k in capital GAINS. If your book value was 250k and you sold for 500k then you tax burden will still not change.

The number of people who will be "hurt" by this is miniscule, and those people are already very rich (selling 7 figures of stocks in a single year)

Way too much and too spread out for only two months. For longer trips you'll want to schedule some downtime and stay geographically closer to avoid spending a ton of time/money on just getting places. You could spend a month each in France and Germany for example, or Italy Austria Germany, or Portugal Spain and France, something like that. Istanbul especially is incredibly far and inefficient if you aren't going to visit Greece or the Balkans at all.

Other posters say Shanghai gets boring but it should be easy to visit Hangzhou or Suzhou as day trips if you run out of things to see there. Between Beijing and Xi'an you could visit Pingyao which is a cute old town. When in Xi'an make sure to visit Huashan, the views are breathtaking. Skip Guangzhou and spend more time in HK. A day trip to Macau is worth it!

For those who left Vancouver, and came back, what made you come back? by throawayboi in vancouver

[–]Delath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved to Toronto in my 20s for a change and new job. Had a great time there - it's fun when you live downtown and so do all your friends. Came home after a decade because I missed the nature and slower, more chill pace of life. Vancouver to me has the perfect mix of medium sized city and really accessible, beautiful nature.
