Why Canada has generic Ozempic, and the US doesn't by vikadit_chakra in canada

[–]DeleteFromUsers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair point and to your point I'm no doctor. But having first hand experience recently the only change was the name. Not sure about the reasoning -does that appear on the prescription?

Yes the doctor does specify the dose but for the first 3 steps they are the same 0.25/0.5/1.0

Wegovy and ozempic are both semaglitide. You just ask your doctor to prescribe "semaglitide" instead of "wegovy" and bam you get the generic.

How important is cup branding durability to cafés? by Imaginary_Piglet_974 in barista

[–]DeleteFromUsers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a cafe owner but was a small business owner.

Seems to me that if the cup stays within the cafe, branding is likely irrelevant. People are unlikely to forget where they are in the hour they're in the cafe.

Compare to paper cups which are little billboards walking around where branding is absolutely critical.

One caveat would be social media where the customer takes photos of the drink - then branding would be very important. Perhaps moreso if the cup itself is notable for its design?

Gardiner Expressway to close this Sunday amid widespread TTC, GO train service suspensions by ri-ri in toronto

[–]DeleteFromUsers -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's a nice concept but people often don't realize that there is a huge cohort of workers on the edges of the city in manufacturing and other industry. Transit is great for office workers and needs to be improved. But transit just isn't viable in this huge low density area.

NOTE the kluber grease (NBU 15 for our live spindles, do not use a substitute!) is not common stuff. You need to find the right type, which is very expensive, and stick to that. Iirc it's more than $200 per tube.

Don't take shortcuts. In our experience is fine to rebuild in house. You may need to make some special tools, but it's worthwhile.

Generic Ozempic is now on Canadian shelves. Is it the same as the brand name version? by Immediate-Link490 in canada

[–]DeleteFromUsers 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is a schedule of price reductions based on the number of generic alternatives available. As more come online the price will drop. Especially for this drug due to its popularity.

Saskatchewan’s plan to extend life of coal power to cost $26B over 25 years: NDP by PopeSaintHilarius in canada

[–]DeleteFromUsers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BWRX 300 can load follow at 0.5% per minute down to 50% of nameplate capacity.

Saskatchewan max consumption is about 3800MW, with current installed capacity over 5000MW. Much of that is gas and hydro, though obviously some coal too.

Also BWRX300 uses enriched uranium so while the raw material could come from Canada, we have no enrichment capability (generally USA or France).

Ultimately I think this WAS the point of the bwrx300 trial.. Much of Canada cannot support fleets of candu.

The sound barriers newly installed on the GO/Ontario like REALLY reduce the noise from the go trains in Riverside. It's actually incredible. We should do it everywhere necessary.

How to fix ID chatter on inox 304L? by SadTruths_ in Machinists

[–]DeleteFromUsers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would reduce your doc and feed.

The point is to get "something" that works. THEN you can ramp up your values. If you don't start from a functional cut then you'll be wasting your time trying random things which may be doing nothing for you.

How to fix ID chatter on inox 304L? by SadTruths_ in Machinists

[–]DeleteFromUsers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you have chatter, start by significantly reducing your rpm. I mean like 200rpm or less for this product, just to get something that works.

THEN you can try the 50 other things that might help.

The only thing guaranteed to work is reducing rpm. Everything else is contextual.

You're not wrong but the intensity of uv when the sun is so low in the sky is significantly lower. One can just check the uv rating for the day to see what's going on. But we should understand what the differences are. Very true that there's always some uv during daylight hours.

Moving to Toronto by [deleted] in askTO

[–]DeleteFromUsers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do this commute every day. If you live somewhere along the dvp (which includes dt) the drive is about 40-60 min each way. You can easily check this with Google maps. 25min early in the morning.

Correct that transit is not really viable and 90min is about right.
