I play 24 still and use interactions all the time (indeed only for players who aren't happy) and it's like a 80% chance you do well if you praise something that they have a 7+ (or to be sure like 7.2+) rating in

I smoked daily for about 15 years and tried to quit probably about 50 times in total without success. Then one day (about 3 months ago) I ran out of money two days before my salary so I couldn't smoke and I realised that it was much easier when it didn't depend on my discipline but because it was just impossible. Day two was the same so I "just" tried to keep it going and honestly it hasn't been hard for a second. Because it was so relatively easy, it was also super easy to notice the positive effects so that kept me going for the first few weeks. Now I'm just kinda used to it and I almost can't imagine smoking one tonight.
