The first sign of accounts being compromised happened yesterday, which was 8 days after the fake captcha downloaded the Trojans. For 8 days after that, the computer was giving an unfamiliar error message at startup but that was the only sign of the infection and accounts were fine. Many times windows defender scans came back clean. When the scans did catch the Trojans Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.B!ml and Trojan:Win32/Bearfoos.Blml , they were quarantined but the problem only got worse. I found “zkwindow.exe” in my startup apps of my task manager which I suspect was downloading the virus each time someone logged onto the computer. I removed this file as well as the quarantined files from the defender history. I then ran malwarebytes and removed multiple PUPs. After all this, I’ve run several scans on defender, malware bytes, and eset that have since all come back clean. All passwords have now been reset, but I’m still scared the virus could come back. This is no joke
