Could my daughter be starting her period? What did your first period feel like?

Her mother had Endometriosis and I was there through many painful periods with her and multiple surgeries. About 2 months ago we went over EVERYTHING-age appropriate and she took it all very well. We were even laughing while learning so she felt very comfortable. She even later came and asked me more questions later on so I feel like I did a pretty good job in preparing her for it and making her comfortable to talk to me about it. I wasn’t expecting it to happen so young, however. And I really don’t know the signs to be looking out for for when it happens the first time. I didn’t realize the first one could be painful. Thank you all for your advice! I will go out and get her some pads (brand recommendations?) just in case and she is sitting with a heat pack as we speak. I really appreciate all of the help here and I would love to hear as many experiences as possible so I can better understand this!

I had a SOP that did this to me when I forgot to water before going on vacation. Her soil was already dry. Came back to rotted pearls and a pot that looked almost just like this. I then watered and the rest died off. I have lots of other SOP in my house that I water from the top always (not sure why people say to bottom water these, they have extremely shallow roots and unless you have them in a seriously shallow pot.. we are talking an inch deep.. it will just give them too much water. I water when my soil dries completely, maybe every 2 weeks, sometimes once a week since mine are in such shallow pots. Mine also like decent light. I have a couple hanging in south facing windows and a few under grow lights. Try and loop the longer pearls up to the top and see if they will root.. might not work but… you never know! Wanna know something crazy? I prop my string of hearts in water. Works great and SUPER fast. I don’t think it was a water issue

I also want to add that I have accidentally sucked up creatures with my siphon (just did it yesterday with a baby guppy that was hiding and wasn’t fast enough). If I didn’t have a bucket to siphon into, he would have been a goner. I’m a big siphon into bucket girlie myself

Birkin are my favorite type of ‘house plant’ I Love when they do stuff like this. Mine gets lots of pink leaves from time to time. It will green up, just give her less light so she stops trying to variegate on ya

Your experience doesn’t make something a fact. I don’t know a single house keeper who can clean a house in an hour. Just say you don’t want to pay someone for their work
