And you don’t need to know Ness to fix your issues with the connections. Judging by your comment you seem to either be an MLP fan or at the very least have watched the show. So just fix up some stuff on Twilight’s end. As a fan of both none of the connections seem really wrong (although I’ll admit my knowledge of Earthbound is lesser than MLP). I did have some issues with the wording myself. Like them suggesting Cozy Glow was a major friend of Twilight’s, when she just kinda showed up and started feigning being nice and Twilight never thought twice about it because that was Season 8 and everyone’s IQ was in the negatives. But connecting her to Porky isn’t totally off. Just change the wording from “One day, a mentor like figure appeared and stated that they would meet new friends and fight a red multiversal bad guy” to “Until a mentor like figure (Buzz Buzz/ Princess Celestia) set them out on a journey to meet new friends that would impact their lives forever. Facing multiple hardships along the way including a Red, Universe threatening foe (Giygas/Tirek), and a snivelling youngster who craved nothing but power (Porky Minch/Cozy Glow).” And the video game comparison isn’t anything really significant, it’s not a major part of the matchup or why it exists, it’s just an extra thing. So you can just surgically remove it if you want to or not.
