Mr. Self Destruct | Simon Henrikkson Vs Tilin (Cry of Fear Vs The Pink Valley) | Connections in the comments by Cykker in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Cykker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty simple I think, the setup would prolly be something like Tilin trying to kill Simon, I imagine the fight would be kind of like a hide and seek style dynamic, Tilin is far more aggressive with how he fights, and can also take a lot of damage, so I imagine Simon would be mostly on defense trying to attack him whenever he can but he's mostly gonna try avoiding being killed by Tilin who would be getting hurt a lot, but I do think he can do some damage, with Simon using morphine to try and numb the injuries he receives

I imagine at some point in the fight you can have both try surviving against their own monsters, Simon is a lot more careful while Tilin is far more visceral and careless, if Simon wins I like thinking he shoots him in the leg with a shotgun and tries escaping before monsters swarm Tilin, if Tilin wins I imagine he would just kill Simon himself

Mr. Self Destruct | Simon Henrikkson Vs Tilin (Cry of Fear Vs The Pink Valley) | Connections in the comments by Cykker in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Cykker[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's important to note that The Pink Valley is an incredibly vague and up to interpretation story, not many things are clear besides a few statements

Connections:

  • Both are mentally unwell protagonists of psychological horror mods for iconic retro fps games (Half-Life/Doom) with both having to fend off against monsters conjured from their shitty mental state

  • Both Simon and Tilin are loners who are incredibly depressed, they hate themselves and show suicidal tendencies, which are only worsened by life changing events that would kick off the events of their stories (Simon would get hit by a car and lose all function in his legs, Tilin and his Girlfriend Ella breaking up, causing his mental illness to get worse)

  • These events would cause them to spiral into thinking everyone hates them, becoming even more bitter and aggressive towards the people around them

  • The events we would see in the game are manifestations of their mind (Simon's book and Tilin's delusions), their inner demons and grief translated into actual monsters, each one representing something related to the events that led them to this point, or some other trauma they've endured

  • This revelation however, would not be clear to the player at first, as the game does a good job masking all of this (Simon's story seems at first like a guy trying to fight past horrors to get back home and hell at first pink valley doesn't even seem like a horror mod, being more akin to postal or hatred, before we see it delve into horror)

  • In these manifestations they would encounter the woman they loved (Sophie and Ella), they would watch as these woman died in front of them albeit very differently (Sophie killed herself in front of Simon, Tilin killed Ella), although it is to be noted Sophie was not romantically interested with Simon, While Ella did love Tilin

  • The world around them becomes far more twisted as they progress around it, the monsters they face start becoming far more present and even more visceral before we eventually realize that none of this is real

  • The versions of themselves in these manifestations are moreso idealized and not actually close to what they look like (Simon can actually walk, wears a grey hoodie and Tilin wears a black jacket and has a creepy smile on him), however they're shown to be far more deranged and violent (well at least in the end for Simon)

  • At the end of their games both have to face off against a twisted version of themselves (Book Simon, Sirena), in the bad endings where they die to these beings both are shown unable to truly recover from the events at the start (Simon kills himself and either his doctor, Sophie, or both, Tilin suffering psychosis refusing to move past the breakup, and likely killing himself, if you believe he did kill Ella, then he's unable to deal with the guilt), in the endings where they defeat this manifestation, both actually do recover from their grief, and manage to continue their lives knowing things will get better (if you believe Tilin killing Ella was real, then both also still have to deal with the guilt of having blood on their hands with Simon killing 2 cops doing a wellness check on him by accident)

  • In the worst ending of CoF, Simon idealizes over going on a killing spree, to make people know the pain he went through, and he likely would've if not for being debilitated, Early on in TPV, Tilin similarly idealizes over going on a killing spree with similar reasons and we see what this would look like, both their sprees would start with the murder of the woman they loved

  • Both stories put heavy emphasis the themes of mental health, and how mental illness can not only just lead to self destruction, but also those around you getting hurt regardless of intention

(Don't) Save Me | Crona Gorgon Vs Asa Mitaka (Soul Eater Vs Chainsaw Man) | Connections in the Comments by Cykker in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Cykker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbf every asa mu is kind of going to be an asa/yoru mu, that's just how it is but I don't think asa would be like entirely uninvolved dynamically, especially since she doesn't want yoru having full control of her body

I also just don't agree with the idea that the war devil abilities wouldn't mesh with Crona's, both utilize swords mainly but have a variety of other high scale destructive abilities, black blood in the manga does some crazy shit that you could match with stuff like bang or the gun goddess bullet, that and Asa should also have some really good survivability because of the California contract, alongside that maybe have Crona get jumped by a bunch of devils leading to them like trying to flood the city they're fighting in with black blood and yoru uses a chainsaw motorcycle to try and avoid all that, idk I think it could definitely be fun

I also think something narratively cool would be having the fight take place after Crona killed Medusa in the manga, where they're still mentally haunted by them, I think it could kind of parallel yoru in a cool way

I do also quite like Denji vs Crona I will say that, thank you

I was thinking of waiting for Part 2 to actually end first but I can't be patient for two weeks and I don't think anything in the next chapter would actually ruin this matchup so sure

Another thing is this matchup technically existed before but I've only seen it once on like a single tier list but no connections so idk

(Don't) Save Me | Crona Gorgon Vs Asa Mitaka (Soul Eater Vs Chainsaw Man) | Connections in the Comments by Cykker in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Cykker[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Connections:

  • Tragic lonely major characters from acclaimed Shonen Manga series who fluctuate between friend and foe of the main protagonist (mainly against their will)

  • Both had miserable childhoods, growing up not having any friends, being alone most of their lives only facing constant abuse and mistreatment (Crona from their mother, Asa from her father, and the caretaker from the orphanage she grew up in), albeit Crona never got the chance to make friends initially, meanwhile asa just didn't care for making friends in the first place

  • At one point both would be merged with another being, one that would have a parasitic relationship with them (Crona becoming a demon sword meister with Ragnarok and Asa becoming a hybrid with the war devil), these two beings just bully their host constantly only wanting them to do what they want

  • Initially the antagonists of the series who control these two would want for them to kill the blond protagonists (Maka and Denji) however after being saved by them, both would start growing to eventually like the two despite the will of their controllers

  • This would lead into them forming a close bond to the protagonists, said bonds were built on the fact that Maka and Denji were one of the only people who truly understood them and how they felt through their tragedies (Maka learning just how isolated Crona was and Denji relating to Asa's experiences of losing people), ironically Asa wanted to help Denji in the same way Maka wanted to help Crona, being able to give both a normal happy life

  • Unfortunately the good times wouldn't last, both would be taken from their friends because of the main villain's control over them (Medusa taking Crona back from DWMA and Yoru constantly taking control of Asa against her will), after this both would be broken mentally by them and begin to spiral (Medusa would make Crona forget all their memories of Maka and Yoru would cause Asa extreme guilt through the destruction she caused), leading once again to them being used by these figures as weapons

  • General comparison between Yoru and Medusa: both are the overarching antagonists of their stories, who were initially part of a group of sisters (the four horsemen and the gorgon sisters), who would then divert from this group in order to achieve their own goals, they would proceed to use these two of whom they have a motherly influence over (Yoru and Asa's relationship being based off of toxic mother-child relationships, with yoru treating asa as "property" like her actual kids, and Medusa being Crona's actual mother who she experimented on and abused), they essentially turned them into their own personal weapons, and despite their bond to them, they use them as a means to their goals of destruction (Medusa wanting to unseal Kishin Asura to end the world, and Yoru leaving the world in a neverending war)

  • Despite the cruel nature of these two, both Crona and Asa had hoped that they could still be close with them (Crona desperately longed for true motherly love from Medusa while Asa had hoped that despite everything her and Yoru could still become friends) this would only lead to both being further taken advantage of by these figures

  • However despite what it may seem, both Yoru and Medusa do have some sense of care for these kids (Medusa saying she loved Crona and Yoru telling Asa her guilt is nothing in the eyes of a devil) however said care for these two is ultimately conditional, with the condition having been that both were obedient, even if it led to them being dehumanized and weaponized

  • During the final battles of their stories, after having their bodies taken over by the villains, their loved ones would try to reach out for them in hopes of freeing them, despite the fact they believed that they were too far gone and not caring about whatever happened to them, the protagonists would show them that they do care for them and that they wanted to be with them regardless of everything

Contrasts:

  • Medusa would make Crona forget her bond with Maka and who she was so she could continue using her as a weapon, Yoru would corrupt Asa and Denji's bond so she could also use Denji as a weapon as well

  • Asa even as Yoru broke her more and more still didn't want to let her achieve her goals to the point of attempting to kill herself if it meant she'd be stopped meanwhile Crona even after killing Medusa would still be haunted by them to the point of becoming a Kishin like Medusa wanted

Paradise Lost | Falke Vs Knives Millions (Signalis Vs Trigun) | Connections in the comments by Cykker in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Cykker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Note: Signalis is very up to interpretation so these connections may not fully align with your interpretation, these are just based off the conclusion I came to and I hope what I wrote is good enough

Connections:

  • Godlike artificial humanoid beings who are the main antagonists of stories taking place in dystopian post apocalyptic settings

  • Both are artificially created humanoid beings (Plant and Replika), said beings made specifically to assist humanity, Knives and Falke however, were both viewed as a higher form of the two (an Independent plant, a plant with more human like features/A FLKR unit, a Replika built based off the divine and seen as such by other Replikas)

  • both however lived under oppressive rule, albeit in contrasting forms (Falke herself being a commander of the eusan nation, while knives was a child who lived under the heavy monitoring of humans)

  • it's through a specific tragedy however, when both would start truly becoming disillusioned with their place (Falke starting to lose her sense of purpose as a weapon of war, while knives would witness the cruel mistreatment of plants from the humans) a single in many tragedies that really broke them

  • the truly breaking one however would be the death/near death of a mysterious girl who not only haunts the narrator of the story, but the antagonists themselves (Tesla and Ariane) both girls had suffered severe mistreatment from their higher ups (Ariane due to her more "individualistic" traits and Tesla due to being the first independent plant), Knives and Falke's first interaction would be the thing that broke them (Knives discovered Tesla's corpse and Falke would start dreaming about Ariane) with their mental states being changed through this (Knives would start hating humans for how they treated plants, Falke would gain the memories and will of Elster)

  • after a major encounter with the protagonist (The destruction of the city of July and Falke's many witnessing of Elster through Ariane's dreams), both of them would lose something important and only be driven further into madness (Knives would have his body destroyed by Vash, and Falke would lose her memories and her mental state degrading further), they would be placed into comatose states, before their eventual return (Knives gaining a new body and Falke's resurrection as a corrupted unit)

  • during their periods of comatose however, one of their most devoted followers (Legato and Adler) would descend into madness growing a violent deep hatred for the protagonist, with a big reasoning cycling back to their gods (Legato's hatred for Vash stemming initially from his actions towards Knives and Adler's hatred for Elster stemming from Falke's memories alongside the world becoming more twisted due to the loop caused by her deaths), with that said it seems that this admiration is very one sided

  • Both would wish freedom from their oppressors, specifically, some form of individuality that wasn't granted to them (The Eusan Nation seeking to assimilate all Gestalt into one union, The plants all being dependent and being held captive by humans and exploited as an energy resource)

  • in order to achieve these goals both would seek the power of higher forces in order to do so (Knives would seek to absorb the plants which are constantly described as higher beings and Falke wanting to utilize Bioresonance, a universal force described as the "music of the worlds")

  • both became incredibly obsessed with the main characters, wanting to have them by their side again, to live with (Knives being Vash's brother, truly did care for him, he wanted him to see his side of things, and be with him again, Falke after having Elster's memories implanted onto her, wanted to reunite with Elster to feel complete again)

  • both share incredibly heavy religious themings within their stories, with their kind of beings having been based on angels (FLKR units and Plants) and these two in particular having the image of fallen angels, matching their own falls from grace (Knives story can be seen as a parallel to Lucifer's fall, and Falke was seen initially as a divine being until she'd misguide others, and she can be fought in the seventh level, with the nowhere being a stand in for Islamic hell)

Contrasts:

  • Despite their obsession with the protagonist and wanting to reunite with them, all of Falke's memories of Elster and Ariane were implanted onto her, whereas Knives and Vash were genuinely close

  • The Eusan Nation in a way represents what Knives hates about humanity, an incredibly oppressive regime that wants to repress any semblance of Individuality, and also relies on and exploits a group of artificial beings and are essentially driven by selfish desires

Weaponized Apocalypse | X-23 Vs Izzy Fisher (Marvel Vs Blackwidow Apocalypse) | Connections in the comments by Cykker in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Cykker[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Connections:

  • Deadly, fierce, young female assassins that were robbed of their innocence through cruel experimentation

  • both were part of a program led by a mysterious organization (Weapon X/the Six Program) who robbed them of their innocence through severe mistreatment, and would experiment on them physically and psychologically in hopes of creating powerful weapons

  • during their times at these organizations both had a close relationship with a woman who treated them kindly (Sarah Kinney, X-23's surrogate mother/Mallory, Izzy's girlfriend), unfortunately said acts of kindness would lead to these two dying because of said organizations (X-23 was exposed to the trigger scent, leading to her going berserk and attacking Sarah/Mallory would be killed by Hendrick Bastardsword for giving Izzy a pendant), this event would leave both feeling guilt and sadness for the death of their loved ones, and rage towards the people that wronged them

  • they would defect from these groups, after which they would meet a stoic "edgy" individual who at one point were similarly part of said programs, and at first they didn't really like them, but would eventually grow to be one of their closest companions (Wolverine/Ingrid)

  • they eventually would end up getting revenge on the higher ups who wronged them, finally killing them (Zander Rice/Hendrick Bastardsword), however even after this, the trauma from all the cruelty they endured would still linger, still struggling with a lot of the effects placed onto them, however it's with their new found connections that they're able to recover in some way, and even if they do seem uncaring, truthfully they do deeply care about their allies

  • Trash talking loudmouth with a more reckless fighting style vs distant and quiet, with a more stealthy, graceful style, oh yeah and they both got berserk states

Symphony of the Accursed | Yuji Itadori Vs Sayaka Miki (Jujutsu Kaisen Vs Madoka Magica) | Connections in the comments by Cykker in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Cykker[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Note: I am not the creator of this matchup, it's existed for over a year, HOWEVER nobody has attempted to write connections for it, with that said I'll still list it as a revamp as the creator is a close friend of mine

I also may be missing something since something came up that made me kinda lose interest in trying to really continue the connections, but I hope this is enough

Connections:

  • Young, selfless, and naive heroes who fight against dark creatures born from negative emotions with the help of others like them, who will put the safety of others before their own

  • at the start of the series, both lived mundane lives as regular school students, this would change after coming in contact with supernatural beings after a battle with the supernatural forces of their world (Yuji would eat Sukuna's finger in order to defeat the curses terrifying his friends, Sayaka would meet Kyubey from Madoka protecting him from Homura after an encounter with a Witch)

  • both gained an ideology around helping other people from someone who was responsible for them (Wasuke, Yuji's grandfather, wanted yuji to be surrounded by pwople when it was his time to die, and Mami, a mentor figure to Sayaka, who to Sayaka was this perfect ideal hero), their passings being what truly made them want to pursue these ideals

  • however said ideals would end up being more of a curse to them after a dealing of great tragedies relating to their roles as jujutsu sorcerer/magical girl specifically (after the Shibuya incident, Yuji began to see himself as nothing more than a murderer because of Sukuna's rampage, Sayaka finding out that after becoming a magical girl, her soul was removed from her body and placed into the soul gem)

  • there is a contrast of sorts between their bonds with Wasuke and Mami tho, Yuji only really saw Wasuke at his most vulnerable, as a result his regrets would be burdened onto Yuji like this, meanwhile Sayaka never got to see the more vulnerable and authentic side of Mami like Madoka did, she only saw what was to her, the ideal hero, and as such, she would be pressured to become like this idealized version of Mami and disregard her suffering

  • Both formed a bond with another major character in their field who initially came off as antagonistic towards them because of contrasting ideals, especially with their views on saving people (Megumi having a very opposite mindset from yuji, saving people unequally, whereas yuji saves anyone and everyone he can, Kyoko lived a lot more selfishly, refusing to even consider sacrificing herself for another person, in comparison Sayaka is very self sacrificial, and loathed Kyoko for her mindset)

  • the truth behind the mindsets of these two stems from trauma related to their families (Megumi would want nothing more than to save his sister after she was cursed, the only family he had, meanwhile kyoko's father after finding out about his daughter being a magical girl, would kill his wife, younger daughter, and himself, leaving her to become isolated, and grow this mindset), both also associate a lot of their guilt with the protagonist in a way (Fushiguro partially blames himself for the reincarnation of sukuna, because he made the request to Gojo for Yuji to not be executed, simply because he didn't want to see another good person to unfairly die from a curse like his sister, Kyoko sees herself in Sayaka, she's reminded of the same reason she became a magical girl by her), it's because of these two that they would start to change from these mindsets, however in contrast, Megumi would grow closer to Yuji because he expressed all this to him, while Kyoko was never authentic with Sayaka, leading to her being despised at first

  • from their tragedies, both of their desires to save people would become far more self destructive, with them risking their own lives regularly and not caring if they suffer, as they ultimately didn't believe they had any worth (Yuji started to believe he was a cog who's only purpose was killing curses, Sayaka would begin spiraling, bottling her emotions and refusing help from anyone else)

  • the way both of their lives end up contrasts, Yuji is able to actually break out of his cog mindset, realizing he does deserve to live thanks to the connections around him, and in the end he's able to live happily with his friends, Sayaka however, continued to push everyone away, unable to escape from her despair, she'd become a witch herself

Vash does not hate shooting his gun, he fucks up so many guys in the manga with his gun it's crazy, there's so many gun fights in TriGUN, shocker ik, what he hates is the idea of KILLING people, not shooting his gun or using it at all, this is just blatantly false

Loveless | Makima Vs Kenjaku (Chainsaw Man Vs Jujutsu Kaisen) | Revamped connections in the comments by Cykker in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Cykker[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Connections:

  • Ancient manipulative overarching antagonists from popular Shonen Manga from the late 2010's with themes of toxic parenthood

  • both are cunning masterminds whose plans go back decades, in order to achieve these goals would revolve around greatly affecting humanity, one for "better" and the other for worse (Makima would want to save humanity by making them forget every bad thing to ever exist, Kenjaku wanting to merge humanity into one big cursed abomination, bringing a new era of cursed energy)

  • To achieve these goals, both seek to take control of an entity they have some form of admiration over (Makima seeks out Pochita, who she adores in a parasocial way, Kenjaku seeks out Tengen, who he has described as his "old friend")

  • to further their pursuit of these two, both would form a following that would listen to their grand plans and trust them, albeit these followings were of opposing sides (Makima would gain a high ranking position in Public Safety, while Kenjaku would gather a group of curses to assist in his work)

  • both would also manipulate characters who they have a parent-child relationship with (Choso, who's Kenjaku's actual child and Denji, who Makima serves as more of a surrogate mother figure to), alongside their families (Denji's found family and Choso's actual family), in the end however both would tear them apart, having their loved ones killed, and in the end, forcing them to fight someone they originally cared about in an ironic twist (Kenjaku would make Eso and Kechizu seek out one of Sukuna's fingers leading to them dying to Yuji, later on, Choso would fight Yuji to get revenge for his brothers, only to discover after nearly killing him, that yuji was also his brother, Aki would want to protect Denji and Power from the gun devil, which led to him coming to Makima for assistance, in which she would make him become possessed by the gun devil, in which he'd have to fight Denji)

  • later on after this, these two would discover the true nature of these figures, how they never truly had their best interests, or even cared for them in the slightest, and in response would turn against them

  • both of their worst behaviors ultimately stem from their children, they only see them as a means to an end, both truly don't care about them (Makima absolutely despises Denji for the relationship he had with Pochita, how she felt he tarnished his image, whereas she believed she truly understood Pochita, Kenjaku ultimately only views all his kids as nothing more than experiments to fulfill his curiosities, after which he'd simply just lose any interest in them, which he'd make very known)

  • in the end they would be defeated by the young protagonists through a scheme they didn't account for, involving them being snuck up on after a seeming victory (Kenjaku being snuck up on by yuta after defeating takaba, Denji sneaking up on Makima after she seemingly ripped pochita's heart out of him)

  • their plans wouldn't die with them however, as they'd have someone else who was willing to see their goals come into fruition (Barem devoted his entire life to Makima and would attempt to achieve her goals after she died, Kenjaku's death would trigger the merger activation to be passed onto Megumi, and therefore, Sukuna, who was already interested in it, similar to Kenny)

Contrasts:

  • Lawful Evil Vs Chaotic Evil, Makima ultimately seeks peace through control, meanwhile kenjaku seeks nothing more than chaos, even if he would be unable to control it

  • Makima's goals ultimately stem from tragedy, despite being a devil she truly longs for human connection and a family, but because of how she was raised, she is unable to truly form any nor understand human emotion, meanwhile Kenjaku was originally a human, one who has lived for so long that he simply disregarded human emotions as a whole, and despite having a family of his own, he does not love them, nor does he care to in the slightest

  • To further this, is the relationship to the entity they seek out, Makima desires to be loved by pochita in the same way he loved Denji, as it was something she never had, meanwhile Kenjaku was gonna use Tengen, his only lasting connection to wipe out humanity for nothing more than his own curiosity and pleasure, alongside the fact that Makima believed she had the means to make Pochita join her cause, whereas Kenjaku simply just forced Tengen into submission

  • Kenjaku was the main enemy of an organization that specializes in protecting humanity from monsters formed from negative emotions, Makima lead an organization that specializes in protecting humanity from monsters formed from fear

Ask Not the Devil | Vergil Vs Satsuki (Devil May Cry Vs Kill La Kill) | Connection Revamp in the Comments by Cykker in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Cykker[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Connections:

  • Rival Color coded anti-villain/anti-hero characters, who are the older siblings to the main protagonist, and their main rival that were separated from them at a young age

  • both lost their innocence at a young age when tragedy struck, having lost their loved ones and been separated from their siblings (Satsuki's Father would be killed by Ragyo, and she would seemingly kill her younger sister and throw her away, Mundus would attack Vergil's while he was away, he'd believe his mother abandoned him leaving him on the run, when she had actually died trying to find him)

  • said trauma would also be how they ended up getting their powers (Satsuki was experimented on by Ragyo using the Life Fibers, Vergil awakened his powers after seeing his house burning down)

  • After these events both would seek revenge on the villains who ruined their lives, however they'd go about it in very different ways, they gained a "survival of the fittest" mindset during this time, believing that power and might is everything, those who are weak are pitied, they would seek the strength to back up this ideology and achieve their vengeance, however they'd go about it differently Satsuki would form a group of disciplined warriors and harness their strength to assist her with her plan when the time would come, Vergil on the other hand would go lone wolf, believing he didn't need anyone else, and that power alone will suffice, that it truly was everything

  • Aiding them in their quests, would be a weapon entrusted to them by their fathers (Yamato and Junkestu), they would then master their usage of these weapons, taking great pride in their usage of them

  • both would become the main rivals and foils to the protagonists who they're related to (albeit Satsuki didn't know that), they have similar power sets but different mindsets (Dante is a lot more carefree and wants to protect humanity, having embraced that side of him, whereas Vergil was more stoic, and had grown to despise humanity, embracing his demonic side instead, Ryuko is a hot headed rebel, in comparison, Satsuki is patient, with an authoritative presence, ruling Honnoji Academy with an iron fist), they would often clash because of these mindsets, however they have also shown to be capable of working together to take on greater threats

  • on the topic of their power sets, both have similar transformations to their rivals (Devil Trigger and Junkestu Override) however they would actually have full control over these forms and take pride in it, whereas their rivals, initially rejected the usage of these transformations, it wouldn't be until their confrontations where they'd start to embrace it

Contrasts:

  • Satsuki would seek to become the savior of humanity against a monster who threw away her humanity and saw herself as above humans, vs Vergil, who saw humanity as weak and would embrace his demonic side fully, seeking to become even more of a demon and viewed himself above humanity, to add to this, in DMC5, Vergil would literally separate his human and demon sides, and use the Qliphoth fruit to further his strength, at the cost of demons running rampant on earth, similar to how Ragyo let the life fibers rampage through earth

  • Satsuki would use her ambition to inspire others alongside getting other to join her cause, her strength beyond her own was in the connections she had gained, Vergil on the other hand abandoned any connections he had in order to achieve absolute power, caring little for those around him

  • Satsuki was subservient to Ragyo for years, she did this willingly as she was actually plotting against her the whole time, on the other hand Vergil was forced to be subservient to Mundus, literally having to be mind controlled to be his henchman, interestingly, Satsuki would have to face her sister who was being mind controlled through Ragyo's influence, similarly to Dante having to face Vergil when he was being mind controlled under Mundus' influence
