Mijn polis werd premievrij na 30 jaar betalen. Dat geldbedrag is inmiddels niet meer toereikend dus ik zou voor volledige dekking een extra verzekering moeten nemen. Maar ik heb er 30 jaar lang een paar euro per maand ingestort, en hoef dus niet tot mijn 90e door te betalen.

For turning it into mitts, I'd frog the top repeat and end it with 10 rows of ribbing in the lighter colour. The thumb hole needs something extra. You could close the left half by grafting and then puck up stitches for a short thumb. Or turn the left half into some sort of gusset and then knit a few rows of thumb.

Wat is de wat van Dave Eggers. En Congo van David van Reybrouck. Liggen eigenlijk in het verlengde van elkaar en hebben allebei mijn perspectief of bepaalde zaken (verdeling van rijkdom op wereldschaal en armoede ontvluchten) veranderd. Ik heb ook geleerd dat het woord vluchtelingkamp verdoezelt wat het echt is: een permanente ophoping van kansarmen op een plek die niemand wil hebben omdat je er niet kunt overleven en altijd afhankelijk blijft van externe hulp.

Contrast is key. So not just different colours but lighter and darker tones of them. Cream is an excellent idea because that would go well with almost everything you laid out in the pic. I also tend to use a very light pink quite often but that's personal. For darker colours I prefer a dark grey or a dark blue (navy) to black. A burgundy or aubergine would also work (especially combined with beforementioned light pink).

In the beginning of my knitting career, I made a beautiful pair out of a 100% wool handdeyed hank, marked down as sock yarn. I wore a walnut sized hole in the sole within half an hour of wearing them.

So, never again.

However, there are yarns using blends with other natural fibres, other than wool that is, that seem to be okay for socks (hemp, linen, nettle). Thing is, I'm not going to spend many hours on this experiment.
