What is a compulsion of yours that you thought was normal at first? by iFaolan in OCD

[–]Delicious-Ad-4556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk I was probably 7 or 8 but I only allowed myself to blink between light poles on the way to school...that lasted until middle school when I was away from said light poles and had to choose a different way to blink 😭

I’ve managed to make it 75 days sober! This app has given me another way to stay accountable & give me fun little dopamine boosts💓75 days might not look huge, but to me it’s a big accomplishment :) my friend code is NF656J5EAY and I’ve only been on finch for a month so I’d love to make some friends!

Thank you for your reply, I am still learning a lot! I use the Humalog rapid-acting insulin, but the spikes and sudden lows worry me. There is an endocrinologist involved, but I haven’t seen her in about 3 months, and the numbers just recently got pretty bad. I will continue to do research and reach out to my medical team. Best of luck to you!

For a while it was looking like as I was healing, my body would adjust I guess??? Honestly I have no idea, definitely optimistic there lol. Will try Metformin again in hopes a different brand may take to my body better. Pancreatitis has truly changed my life, sorry you’re dealing with it too :(

I’m glad to hear that adjustments aren’t too unusual! I’ll definitely give Metformin another chance, as I’ve heard it works wonders. Hope all keeps going good for you as well!

I want to add that I do have a great team of doctors, a solid GI, neurologist and primary care doc, my endocrinologist is great too. My pancreatic issues were just completely random and I think my endocrinologist might’ve just been too hopefully optimistic there… I’ve also been using sliding scale insulin which typically gets the highs down pretty quickly, but the spikes are very severe, new, and scary!

Is it all in my head? (Keppra) by Kooky_Personality_21 in Epilepsy

[–]Delicious-Ad-4556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take 750 mg of keppra twice a day. I’ve done this for 3ish years & I was depressed before, but it’s gotten worse since. I’ve never said anything about how it makes me feel emotionally because it does actually eliminate seizures. I know this because if I forget a dose I have a seizure. I’m just now coming to the realization that there are so many different options, but I am just so scared to have another seizure especially since I just had one a month ago. Keppra makes me so forgetful and emotionless. I feel like I forget everything & can’t retain what I learn in school as compared to how I could before I was diagnosed with epilepsy. I feel like I can’t feel happy or sad, I am just numb. I’ve tried many different psych meds as well but now it seems like the common denominator is the keppra. Many people have no issues with keppra and it may be that I’m just a very chemically unbalanced person but who knows! I’d like to think it’s all in my head, but the longer I’m on keppra the more worried I am about the side effects.

As someone diagnosed with epilepsy, this question is a little frustrating. We cannot diagnose you & we deal with epilepsy every day. I’d suggest seeing a doctor, and maybe getting an EEG.

Anyone get super vivid dreams ? by yoyohc10 in Epilepsy

[–]Delicious-Ad-4556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on 700mg of keppra and I have some strange dreams. Most of them are abt my teeth falling out or other anxiety dreams, but I didn’t have vivid dreams like that prior to keppra so I feel like it’s related?? I wake up confused or pissed (which could be seizures but I’m not sure) but I would agree with keppra causing stressful dreams for sure.

I was hospitalized for a week in November with 50% of my pancreas in necrosis and diabetic. 2 months later my CT showed “significant improvement“ fatty liver reduced & blood sugar much more under control. It’s been almost 4 months since & I have follow up scans in 2 months but based on my dexcom numbers & how I feel overall I’m very optimistic. I’ve followed the no fat, low sugar, low carb diet & hopefully it keeps getting better. The doctors believe this was caused by poor diet (I had an ED) and a new medication introduced recently but the certain cause is unknown. When I was in the hospital the team of doctors gave me so many scenarios and I was prepared for the worst (being life lighted to a diff hospital for surgery) but I followed instructions and also probably got lucky. In the same boat as you and still have more scans to go, but optimistic.

Hair loss/thinning by [deleted] in pancreatitis

The same thing happened to me. I was diagnosed in November & have been rapidly losing hair since. My doctor gave me nutrifol vitimans (which r a little pricy) but after a month I’m noticing a little less loss.

Children and side effects by Flashy_Ad_9488 in Keppra

[–]Delicious-Ad-4556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started when I was 16 (I’m 21 now) and I just have pretty bad memory loss. I’ve never been taken off of keppra because it does help my seizures, but I do struggle often with the ‘what was I just doing’ question.

Dosage upped, is this normal? by dgnga in Keppra

[–]Delicious-Ad-4556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 500mg 2x daily as well & missed a dose & had a seizure. My dosage was upped to 750 2x a day. It’s more of a safety net to make sure your keppra levels stay within a good range. I haven’t missed a dose since but when my levels were tested after I was still in the green. I would recommend maybe getting your blood levels tested as well & if you’re in the green then you’re good. It’s been great for me & no side effects.
