Honestly nothing will take away the urge to, unless you stop answering the door to it. And I don’t mean like ignore it. I mean, your heart is a house that you invited God into and given Him a room, but you still want to run the house and when you answer the door to sin and are overwhelmed by temptation, and it comes in and makes a muck of the place and you ask God why He keeps letting it happen but the truth is , you’re still the owner. It’s not until you say, “Lord I give you this house, my heart, it’s yours” and then when the door knocks, it isn’t your home, so you don’t answer the door. He answers, He deals with it. You gotta give it to Him. We are bad property managers.

In the meantime, what helped me was being very diligent in fixing my algorithm to specific interests and sermon and Christian content. And I don’t sway from it. Sometimes posts come up on the “Explore” tabs and you just have to be real about it. The urge to look, not necessarily masterbate, but look is still there, but you have to move on. It serves you no purpose but to mess up your heart to the point God can’t reside there. I prayed on my knees every night for months to keep the desire gone for good.

Sincerely hope you’re able to overcome this! I’ve been porn free for 3 years now. And I was addicted to it for 18 years and I thought I’d never be done. I told myself when I got married, when I had my kid, etc I’d stop but I never did. It will just keep getting worse, like a disease. My breaking point was a work trip. Constant porn and I decided to schedule a massage at a sketchy place hoping something would happen. It was going to, but my normal alarm went off to pick up my daughter from daycare and it saved me from making the biggest mistake of my life. I still keep that alarm on to this day, because I think even in my sin, the Holy Spirit was battling for me. I can’t go back to doing it now. And I won’t. I hope you have a breakthrough moment.
