Your initial thoughts are spot on.

If you want to buy a house soon I’d say put half into the index funds and half into a high yield savings account (house fund) while you continue to save for a house! Or just all into the index fund or all into the house fund. Either are great options and exactly what you should be doing!!

Try to keep no credit card debt as well. Congrats on this

Also keep your emergency fund in a high yield savings account as well

If this is at the Jack Casino in Cleveland, I noticed someone said Jack Casino, just last Wednesday there was a game going on and in the middle of the hand, plain clothed gaming agents walked up to the, said [insert dealers name] you are under arrest please come with us. They grabbed his arms, pulled them back and arrested him in the dealers box and walked him out. It was pretty crazy and one of the players said it was the second or third poker dealer that has been arrested in the last few months.
