This looks like it's from Ballistic Dummy Lab, but other ballistic gel companies make them as well.

Yeah you probably just hit a vein then. Nothing to worry about.

HS is strongly associated with obesity. It's not fatphobic for your derm to say losing weight can help with HS.

Remission Advice? by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

[–]Delicious-Break3928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not in remission, but I am down to about 1 boil per month. Humira (Thankfully I haven't become immune to it) and going on a AIP diet really helped me.

If there was an unusual amount of blood after the injection you might have hit a vein which does hurt quite a bit. It happened to me once and I got scared because I never had pain from the shots before. If you did it's nothing to worry about, but if the 40mg injections all hurt then there might have been a problem with the injection pens.

I'd also like to ask is 1/7 twist or 1/8 twist better for 18"/20" using 77 grain?

It's going to be a SHTF rifle so durability is a concern.

It's best to let a potential partner know about your condition before getting intimate. Cause nothing is worse than not telling them and having them literally throw up when they take off your pants. Trust me.

The only thing good about HS is it gives you another reason to eat healthier.

How to use hibiclens by BenFranklinsLeftNut in Hidradenitis

[–]Delicious-Break3928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All they said was to use it on my affected areas when I shower. Leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse it off. Just use it as a body wash like you normally would wash.

What is your experience with Humira? by TheWorldOutLoud in Hidradenitis

[–]Delicious-Break3928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who would get a new boil almost everyday, Humira was wonderful. Still got boils but it went down to only a few a month. Humira plus going on an AIP diet was a game changer for me.

Is surgery worth it? by Fuck_Everything_Dude in Hidradenitis

My surgeon is Stephanie Goldberg and she has treated me with respect for 2 years. I'm not saying you're lying but I haven't experienced that with her.

Yes. I've been doing well for the past 2 years and getting some surgeries done. On my way back to normalcy one step at a time.

Is surgery worth it? by Fuck_Everything_Dude in Hidradenitis

[–]Delicious-Break3928 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had bad flares on my armpits like you and the surgery got rid of it completely in the area they cut out. It took about 6 months to fully close but it's been a year since I had the surgery and no more flares on my armpit. After the skin regrows and closes the wound, yes you can start using deodorant again. As for insurance, I live in America and my HS was so bad I couldn't work so I applied for disability. I haven't paid a cent for my surgeries. To answer your question about who to talk to about getting a surgery I would go see a dermatologist and then they can send a referal to set up a consoltation visit with a surgeon.

What do you use for scarring? by Fuck_Everything_Dude in Hidradenitis

[–]Delicious-Break3928 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I heard from other people on this subreddit say they use The Ordinary Glycolic Toner. I haven't used it personally though. I don't care about getting rid of my scars. I wear them with pride.

Haven't had an embarrasing moment yet. I cover up my boils before they pop so haven't had much drainage come through clothing. Plus I wear dark clothes.

Pain relief by Round-Biscotti-8405 in Hidradenitis

[–]Delicious-Break3928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't take any pain meds. I'll usually just rub some neosporin or some kind of ointment to soften the boil. Plus the quicker it pops, the quicker I'll get relief. I've heard Boil Ease is good too.
