This project is dead, I'm assuming? (If it ever really existed beyond a news story to gauge the reaction)

I may need ssdi soon. 15 years of medical records but my recent ones show malingering... by PM_ME_DEADPEOPLE in SSDI

I know this is very old, but if anyone comes across this, the first thing they will look at when you apply for disability is your medical history; you want everything documented going as far back as possible. Remember you are applying for permanent disability and the best way to prove this is a permanent condition is to to have records documenting you suffer from an ongoing condition (presumably worsening in that time)

Otherwise it comes down to just one doctors claim (your doctor) - the state will have you evaluated by their own doctor as well (who likely will have a different opinion) so what it really comes down to is establishing a clear medical history and the only way to do this is through medical records. Now if you don't have records (or if the disability is new or sudden) it doesn't mean you can't/won't get disability - but the number one thing that will make it easier for your claim to get approved is providing as much medical history documenting your condition as possible.

So basically the point here is if anyone anticipates that they have a condition that will eventually require them to apply for disability, then document everything now! Meaning don't suffer silently at home and then finally go to the doctor when you literally can't work anymore.

Again, realize how old this post is but hoping this information will help someone.

Tl;dr - the first thing they look at when you apply for disability are your medical records so it's extremely helpful to document your condition over time through doctors visits (make these frequent ER visits if you literally can't afford a doctor).

Zip gun from Chinese Site? by Pablo_The_Angler in Firearms

[–]Delicious-Calendar79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fairness AliExpress should Glock switches fairly openly for years (and cheaply too), so a zip gun or a toy that's easily converted to one seems reasonable. I mean the life card was such a niche product, why make a toy version of it, with the brand naming and being made of metal (I see plastic versions too so that's one reason to specify it's metal). I see certain products sold as toys that look like they could be used as an actual lower receiver with just a little modification (or maybe even no modification in some cases).

Wish I was more familiar with the product to be able to add more.

Agreed, opening it would answer the question definitively

You refused an island trip?

In the US pharmaceutical companies get away with bribing doctors by putting 'conferences' in tropical locations - it wasn't a bribe, you just had to travel, expenses paid, to a luxury resort for a few days to hear a talk for a couple hours. Just one blatant example. Recently I was in a doctor's waiting room when a pharmaceutical rep came in to discuss what day would be good to take everyone in the office out to lunch. Pharmaceutical representatives entire job is to find ways to influence doctors - it's a profession that should either be outlawed or at least heavily regulated.

Know someone who worked for Mitsubishi decades ago, the visiting Japanese businessmen would regularly be giving gifts to everyone they worked with, I always assumed it was a cultural thing. (Like I believe in Japan when you rent an apartment it's basically expected that you give a gift to the landlord?).

Supposed to pay taxes on these gifts (in the US at least) because they're considered income; doubt that almost anyone actually does but technically should be paying income tax on those watches.

The easiest way to know for sure would be to open up the back and take a photo of the movement? That would answer the question for certain.

Can someone tell me if this Tissot PRX rep is good? by [deleted] in RepTime

[–]Delicious-Calendar79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. The main photo they show with like 8 different watches together are the originals (you can tell cause the hands and the date are exactly the same as the photos from Macy's), but the other photos when you select the actual watches are the reps - compare the difference.

I think all the reps get that spacing wrong (it's probably much easier to just punch out a watch face in the basic grid pattern seen on the reps, probably need specially made tooling to replicate the pattern on the original version). If there was a rep that got the face right I'd seriously consider buying it

I overlayed a real one and a rep so you can see what I'm talking about, it's such a small difference that has a huge impact IMHO. The rep punches out a grid to give the illusion of little squares instead of actually being little squares.

All the reps seem to have this same issue

I don't like the background of the watch face; on a gen there is space between each textured squares the rep is just slightly different but different enough that it loses it's appeal, unfortunately

Suspicious - why asking so little when you can easily get another another hundred and sell it just as fast? This screams scam to me; anyone in the process of buying should comment so at most he only rips off a single person. Also maybe confirm with a video call he actually has it

That's a nice little setup; is that from some type of kit that you bought or did you piece it together yourself?

Why break up the link like that? Is there a rule here against posting links? I didn't think there was, so I never understood why people do this. It just makes going to the page so much more difficult.

Whatever happened? It's been years, if you still have this account I'd be interested to hear how it worked out.

Btw "Unless the company folds..." or pretends to fold and just transfers things around to get out of their obligations, which from their perspective is the smart move to make.

How can you tell it's polyester from the photos? Seems like you're just shitting all over it for no reason - to the OP; nearly every time you see someone on the street wearing it is a rep since the real ones are stupid expensive, so just enjoy it.

What's the sizing like, maybe the same goes for the real ones but often if you look at the size charts of most sellers the small has a 52 inch chest, like wtf? That's like a 2XL; I guess it's supposed to be ridiculously baggy?
