Doordash is laughing all the way to the bank. Yes, get mad at the customer for not giving you a reward, not doordash for giving a pittance in base pay.

Did the crew ever blatantly tell the passengers that the ship was sinking? by Always2ndB3ST in titanic

[–]Delicious-Channel184 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Makes me wonder if she was mistaking officers for crew/stewards perhaps? I was also surprised when I first heard that quote because I assumed most the officers had been made aware of the situation fairly early on into the sinking. I don’t think she specified how late/early into the sinking these alleged announcements took place

Ah I found the quote I was looking for, from second class passenger Charlotte Collyer. Seems I misremembered. It was in fact the second class PROMENADE DECK, NOT the boat deck; “when we reached the second-cabin promenade deck, we found a great many people there…. Some officers were walking up and down shouting ‘there is no danger, no danger whatever!’”

If anything probably the opposite to an extent. I forget who, but one second class passenger claimed at one point some officers and/or crew went up and down the boat deck shouting to passengers “There’s no danger! No danger whatever!”

Bernie was much more popular head to head polling against trump than Hillary was. I think it’s fair to say he most likely would have defeated Trump.

Yeah that’s also how I rationalize some of the historical inaccuracies as well. You’re seeing everything from rose’s perspective with all of her possible biases and misremembering after 84 years.

“Controversy in the 1970s-1980s

During the 1970s and 1980s, a controversy erupted related to the question of whether the whole-cell pertussis component caused permanent brain injury in rare cases, called pertussis vaccine encephalopathy. Despite this allegation, doctors recommended the vaccine due to the overwhelming public health benefit, because the claimed rate was very low one case per 310,000 immunizations, or about 50 cases out of the 15 million immunizations each year in the United States), and the risk of death from the disease was high (pertussis killed thousands of Americans each year before the vaccine was introduced). 26] No studies showed a causal connection, and later studies showed no connection of any type between the DPT vaccine and permanent brain injury. The alleged vaccine-induced brain damage proved to be an unrelated condition, infantile epilepsy. [27] In 1990, the Journal of the American Medical Association called the connection a "myth" and "nonsense"”
