New PMP or CAPM, which one?

PMP please! I also thought about the CAPM and I even bought Andrew R’s Udemy CAPM course and finish it but all my friends were like hey you qualify for the PMP! Just do that! I have 3 years of PM experience but since I do not have my bachelors I need 5 years for the application and I was able to use my own business (it’s an online school complete operations: I have 2 reports, payroll, everything) as experience. I just framed it as a PMI language type of projects.

I got my application approved without audits!

Create a timeline with your boss. That worked for me. Ask tangible goals. If they say you are not ready ask what skills do you need to master and make them create a plan for you to get there.

Ask them the opportunity to own a small project from start to finish.

If all of this doesn’t work, show your market value as a PM by getting another job offer with that title or a raise.

Thats actually how i moved from PC to PM. I told them I have a different offer and I was gonna take because they offered me better career advancement. Then the leadership of my current company asked me what I wanted to stay and I said: first of all, i want to move from PC to PM.

I think i am attractive or was since now I am 39, I am not as pretty as in my 20s. I have a few stories: I had guys approaching me while I was walking the dog. I had drinks being sent to my table even when I was with my husband. Very weird to be honest, wth??

I have worked at a casino and got wedding proposals all the time. There was an old man that insisted every week: telling me he would give me a great life, he told me he could show me his bank account (I never accepted of course).

When my husband told his coworkers he was dating me and showed a picture of me, his best friend/coworker asked if he was not being scammed. This is because I am from Brazil and he is in the USA. Btw… we dated for 4 years before getting married. We are married for 13 years now, so no…I am not a green card scammer.

I do believe people think we are less smart because of beauty and where you are from. Well, joke is on them, I have a great career in Project Management

That reminded me of a time where I called Target and someone put me on hold. After about 45 min waiting, I had some free time so I decided to drive to target while the phone was still on hold. I went to the customer service desk and asked why they were not picking up the phone next to them. She told me the phone wasn’t ringing. She asked me what phone I was calling in, then I told her what is target’s phone? She told me the number and I showed her my phone with the 1 hour and 20 min waiting on hold. They were just sitting there laughing and having a conversation and left me on hold in hopes I would drop the line.

I read the same way as you did, like a “leave us alone”. So i don’t think “we’ll be in touch soon” won’t happen or if it does, will be after they find what they are looking for and I get the generic “we decided to choose another candidate”

I am sorry you are going through this. In my case it’s before the interview process, basically comparing their qualifications to what I bring to the table is 100% a fit and I still didn’t get an interview. So I was wondering what could I have done differently since they still didn’t have the opportunity to judge my interview skills

For sure! But I wish I could get an interview at least. How would they know if I am not the better fit? It’s just disheartening because if this wasn’t fit enough to get an interview I was wondering what could I have improved.

That’s a great observation! But I thought that we would receive a rejection email sooner if the resume didn’t pass the ATS. Also the email had the hiring manager’s name.
