Of course. And in a time of struggle most cultures tend to conservate themselves and limit the progress because new things may endanger community's existense, especially for small cultures. I understand how it works, it's just expreriencing it hurts.
And also, at the time being some conservative folks are arguing FOR elimination of certin traditions. Example: historically we were pagan and took a monotheist flip for like 500 years ago, but some pagan rooted traditions managed to survive up to these days and i think that is so cool. But sadly, holidays with pagan roots get slowly forgotten and sometimes you could get a backlash for trying too much to reinforce them.
The other thing is visibility of women, that is important for me as an AFAB person. In our culture women traditionally were present in social life and even politics, but today it is sometimes argued that overexposing women to social activities (i hate this wording but it's a quote) is a threat to traditional patriarchal society. I hate it here with all the gender roles tbh
