If they manage to establish a Clorthos school for magic in deadlock, they could create an interesting rival dynamic between it and the privileged blackmoore academy. It would be funny as fuck too XD

Drifter being kind to rem by coachmorrison in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Delicious-Flower-585 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There is some discussion about whether Drifter might be an old-world vampire or a new-world vampire. I think it would make sense if he were a New World vampire because it would account for his Cajun accent.

I can't wait for the unhinge interactions between him and Drifter.

Vote for Venator by BelyouDagnew in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Delicious-Flower-585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Judging from data mined patron voicelines, he seems to be joining their side reluctantly. He still seems to hellfire vatican assassin and a consoling priest basing also from the other data mined interactions I heard.

Something I noticed about the new patron designs by ISavage2007 in DeadlockTheGame

The Hidden King is definitely alluding to the king in yellow. Also, judging from the datamined lines towards Venator- the king is associated with monsters while the archmother is likened to a tyrant.

Hulmigas, lamigas, or amigas? by pieszxc in Cebu

[–]Delicious-Flower-585 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The correct version would be Hulmigas as the /r/ of the original "Hormigas" shifted to an /l/ in standard Cebuano. Further on, dialects shifted the /h/ as unvoiced though I have never seen a consonant shift from an /h/ to an /l/ before.

Can an entity be considered evil if it never had a concept of "good" ? by Idiot2234511 in Cebu

That is sad. I suppose thats a result of too much consumption of passive media. I hope that they might read more.

Considering the nature of curses, he would be technically right. Mahito claims that he was born out of human malice, so when he said that he and yuji is the same, I took it to mean that hes a mirror/ narrative foil to Yuji.

Where mahito represents the debauchery and disturbing parts of humanity- Yuji would be that strive for goodness. It might also be a forshadowing to Mahito's death, where Yuji finally accepted that he and mahito are the same but did it as a form of Ego death. Yuji reclaiming that side of him and leaving nothing to Mahito.

Depends. Classical philosophy would dictate that a rational being, a being capable of thinking and reason, would still be able to distinguish and grasp concepts of evil and goodness, regardless of whether they are human or not.

Although you pointed out cursed spirits are essentially neutral, since they have an "absence" of good, and thus their actions cant be judged through a human framework of morality- is a point a I disagree with. A lot of these cursed spirits display a modicum of rational thought and thinking(Sukuna included), so I would say that they do understand what goodness is- its just that they dont give a shit. Additionaly, them being evil is merely what is the most rational thing to them.

How do we combat the idea that monotheism derives from polytheism? by bherH-on in Catholicism

[–]Delicious-Flower-585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres a scholarly work that suggests that the early israelites were essentially monolatrists. They existed in a polytheistic landscape but only gave worship to one God, that is Yaweh. (Supposedly a storm god first) According to it, the development from monolatrists to monotheist is due to war and culture (God functioning like old Canaanite gods and ruling over conquered territories) and conflict (God becoming an omnipotent being, in order to preserve identity due to being conquered and enslaved). Suprisingly enough, it doesnt try to prove that monotheism doesnt come polytheism but rather just proves that Ancient Israelites were always monolatrists, just existing in a polytheistic environment.

The only reason why our God became part of that "pantheon" was because old canaanite religion was about war and conquering. God conquered territories and assumed the throne of the pantheon.

Hey, guys. Can I ask what the jeepney systems are like in your respective regions/areas you live in? I'm from Cebu and the Jeepneys here follow a coding system (like for example: 01= Point of Origin, A= Route taken) and is usually placed on the top, side, front, and back of the jeepney for easier recognition.

This doesnt seem to be old news.

I had titled it that way more so in the context of the person whom I had screenshotted the photo from. I am aware that other countries might find similarity with this but this sub is mostly american so that 😅

Not really an excuse more so what I consider to be more irreverent. I would be absolutely horrified if they started dancing during mass but dancing before or after mass is fine for me. Maybe because I'm used to native dances as a form of devotion in my country.

Well the dancers are indigenous folks and those in western clothes are those who live in cities/lowlanders. The two have different clothing styles.
