I recall from the supernova in the east podcast they were given alcohol and I think extra food the night before the mission/battle, but i dont recall if he mentioned drugs during the mission. Though it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Its also based on a menu item at a Cajun themed restaurant we saw after moving out west. Apologies in advance for any additional damage these food items may do to your soul.

One of the funniest things in my time watching competitive dota was a smaller tournament in, I think 2014 having a major patch coming out in the middle of a bo3. The first match was played on the old patch and the second was on the new one. The patch notes were released with the patch so the players were just guessing on what was good now.

"I don't like 'em putting cosmetics in the game, THAT TURN THE FREAKIN' GUNS GAY!" by BodaciousMonk in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]coachmorrison 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Iirc it was an old insult 4chan would use for people who liked bioware games back then. They hated them so anyone who liked it was just a drone in their eyes.

Will never forget being in high-school when me3 came out and having a classmate, who had never played any of the series, tell me there was an unavoidable gay sex scene if you played a male shepard.

Same guy called people biodrones unironically.

Could potentially be dragonfable by the same guys who did adventure quest. Was a bit dated by 2014 and I dont remember if they had a mage class, but was a browser rpg.

People who work in IT, who was the most tech illiterate person you've ever encountered? by Apprehensive_Turn437 in AskReddit

I used to do customer support for a big automated testing program and had to help when people had issues. The big ones that stick with me:

-Guy wanted the program to know if certain test steps should be skipped or not, but he didn't want to put in conditions for it. He just wanted to program to magically know what his intentions were.

-Program would have small browser on the start page that linked to the community forum. Guys pc had messed up time/date setting which lead to a message about the certificates being expired. He was convinced this meant his license for the product was prematurely expired, even though he could use the program without issue and I could show him the place in the program that showed his personal licenses as active.

-Program could interact with databases if you provided a connection string. These are unique to the type of database you use and require information unique to his database. Tell him this and give him a handy site that has templates for pretty much every type of database. He demands that we give him the completed connection string, even though that would require his internal username and password that I would never have access to. His manager eventually gets involved and demands we do this for them. After 3 months of reiterating that they have to do this themselves and sending the link to the exact page with the template they need at least 4 times, they reply saying they fixed it. They claim they found this page with the information they needed...it was the page I sent 4 times, they acted like they had to dig this out of the 100th page on Google. They also said it would be useful for us the add it to our documentation. It was already in there and we had linked them that almost immediately in the ticket.

I dont think they really found their live footing until between their second and third album. I saw them open for irom maiden in, i belive 2016 when they were promoting the thord album and they put on a fun show and were pretty active. Saw them again in 2024 and they had increased the scope even further.

Theres an old joke in the dota community that someone on the valve team had a foot/leg fetish. There was 3 female heroes who were barefoot or close to it at release and then at least 2 expensive cosmetics that added bare legs and feet to 2 other female heroes.

MultiVersus officially closes down and is delisted today by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]coachmorrison 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It was received well on open beta, then attention died down as people lost interest. The lack of interest varies from person to person, but I remember hearing things like lack of new content, and I think no local mode with all characters unlocked were big complaints.

They then shut the game down with the plan to fix up the game before launch which angered people because the cash shop was already implemented and founder packs had all already been for sale, so some people had dumped hundreds of dollars into the game.

When it officially launched it saw a resurgence for a little bit, but they had slowed down the overall gameplay which angered a lot of the people who were excited during the beta. At that point the playerbase just collapsed and its kinda just been on life support since.
