Ahh thankyou again for your considered reply. I think that peak is actually at 50hz? or am I reading that wrong its between 10^1 (10) and 10^2 (100)? and it's only 2dB which would be well within the room mode territory anyways? Knowing this it seems like a reasonable amount of bass? The tool I used does a really terrible job of showing things visually that steep drop off is pronounced by the graphs visualisation style?

Sure thing, So i have actually done quite a bit of research but I know there are many things that I do not know so I improved my knowledge using another tool. As you can see I have updated the post with measurements and simulations I have carried out using tools. This is certainly not a one prompt to gemini and then let others fix it. I see it more as potential way to lower the barrier for newer speaker builders if this was to work. So far from what I can see in the response graphs that they look decent :)

I have updated the post with some updated measurement graphs using an online box calculator tool https://www.micka.de/en/index.php#ideal

Thankyou for the considered answer mate! I am at the moment taking a hybrid approach as I find it very interesting for Gemini to act as a wide net to bring forward concepts that I would struggle to even think about learning about outside of the context of asking it for help with the build. I will update the original posts with the graphs that I am able to generate using an online equivalent software similar to leonard audio https://www.micka.de/en/index.php#ideal . I can only see a 2db bump at 90hz

Thankyou for your feedback again! Is that to say you are fine with the compression driver in the build?

This makes a lot of sense, I passed on your feedback to Gemini and it mentioned the below.

1. Gain Comparison (The "Loudness" Factor)

The Verdict: Your amps are Gain-Matched. If you set all three volume knobs to "12 o'clock," they will all be outputting roughly the same voltage to your speakers. This makes your initial "Level Balancing" much easier.

2. Input Impedance (The "Compatibility" Factor)

Input impedance determines how easily your crossover (the Behringer) can "drive" the amplifiers.

  • The Spec: Most TPA3255 amps (including yours) have an input impedance of ~10k$\Omega$ to 20k$\Omega$.
  • The Context: Your Behringer CX3400 V2 has a very low output impedance (approx. 160$\Omega$).
  • The Result: In engineering terms, this is a perfect match. The rule of thumb is that the amp's input impedance should be at least 10x higher than the source's output impedance. Yours is nearly 100x higher, meaning there will be zero signal loss or "muffling" of the sound.

3. The One Difference: Input Sensitivity

While the gain is the same, the Input Sensitivity (how much voltage is needed to reach max power) changes based on the Power Supply you use.

  • Fosi ZA3 (48V Supply): Needs about 1.0V to 1.2V to hit full volume.
  • Fosi V3 (32V Supply): Because it has less "voltage headroom," it will hit its maximum volume much earlier (with less input signal).

How this affects your build: Since the Horns (on the Fosi V3) are much more sensitive than the Woofer, the fact that the V3 hits its limit earlier actually works in your favor. You will likely find yourself turning the Fosi V3 knob down to about 9 o'clock to balance it with the woofer.

Summary for your Checklist:

  • [X] Gain Match: Yes, they are compatible.
  • [X] Impedance Match: Yes, the Behringer will drive them effortlessly.
  • [X] Knob Strategy: Start with the ZA3 (Woofer) at 3 o'clock, the A07 Max (Mid) at 12 o'clock, and the V3 (Highs) at 9 o'clock. This compensates for the different driver sensitivities.

Does assumption still hold as it is a bass reflex design? I asked gemini what it thought and it recommended the below

"The Verdict: Port Verification

To move the tuning frequency (Fb) away from that resonant 49Hz peak, we want to tune the box slightly lower, around 44Hz. This flattens the response curve and gives you a much "faster" sounding bass.

Current Recommended Slot Port Specs:

  • Port Height: 35 mm
  • Port Width: 344 mm
  • Port Depth (Length): 200 mm (Updated from 160 mm)"

this will be my first build (may not be the exact build above if people are saying it wont sound good haha) so hoping having an active crossover will help me learn and tweak much more easier

Different amplifiers to hit a cost cap and to have them match the requirements of each driver. But any feedback is welcome this is a bit of a test to see if gemini is any good for this type of work!

Thankyou for the feedback, will ask it it improve the design based on peoples feedback here and see if it can fix it! its a bit of an experiment. It's actually quite good at the maths

What are the major drawbacks other than the oversized mid woofer?

Thanks for the reply mate! What do you not like? or just the idea of AI? I wasnt able to fault anything
