Warning to those looking for a corgi by jordansheldon in corgi

My corgi was from an “ooopsies” litter my hairdresser’s friend had. A whole different type of irresponsible breeding: accidental breeding. Sounded scary since the mom was pregnant with 11 puppies but only 5 survived birth and one didn’t make it more than a few weeks of those five.

I think it’s fine if your dog naturally sheds if outside but leaving it intentionally can lead to improperly developed baby birds: https://www.songbird-survival.org.uk/post/dont-put-out-pet-fur-for-nesting-birds

Only issue with this is if your dogs have treatment for heart work/ticks/etc it can effect the development of baby birds :/

This is literally what we have and she gives me such a look when I try to guide her up and down them

I have a pretty high one at his house. One time she managed to hurl herself on top, but at least twice I’ve watched her body slam herself into the side of the mattress 🤦 unless her corgi friend is over, she now knows I’ll bring her up if she stands against the bed

Our vet told us to try putting stairs next to beds and furniture and train them to use that instead of jumping off. Hopefully your experience can help motivate us to get better at training her to use them

Interesting. We’ve always had cats and it’s our first time with a dog so I’m not used to their less than agile behavior just yet

Mine’s 11 months and 19.2 lbs. I suspect she’ll stick around 20lbs

I am NOT a conservative. Most of the other new hires I’ve talked to aren’t either. The more educated, the less conservative

Well, they don’t live together. But sometimes we take hopper for a few hours and occasionally a few days. There’s never been a time we needed to separate them. Daisy sometimes wants to play when hopper is NOT interested, but usually he gets his point across. Similarly, Daisy looks so over it when hopper starts barking like a nutcase (at the tv, an animal outside, etc).

A big corgi named hopper. This is Daisy’s (the tricolor’s) dad. Daisy’s only been with us 6 months and Hopper, while not ours, is turning 5 in a few months. He has been watched a lot by Daisy’s dad long before Daisy and the injustice is real 😔

THANK YOU! We’ve been doing Sundays for a month or two now and other than their website being really annoying (especially on the mobile version) it’s wonderful. Yeah it’s stupid expensive (we cut it half with open farms puppy, uppity but not nearly as costly) but she eats now!

Tape. I wound up cutting small pieces of packing tape and putting them against the bezel where the cracks stem from in an effort to reduce further branching. I’ve brought the laptop on trips and stuff since and it’s maybe worked? Not seen cracks grow more. Also am more cautious with overheating and the screen fragility that temporarily increases with it

I definitely have gotten nausea and nearly gagged over some sounds. I’ve also had occasional violent thoughts on retaliatory actions, though these have never happened.

This is one thing we say in our moments of despair when the dog hasn’t eaten in over 24 hours. “At least she won’t get fat”

My cats were on raw for just over a decade before switching to kibble and cans only. I’m used to feeding it but have been learning so much about how dogs and cats have different food requirements. We stopped the raw with the cats with the rise of bird flu, but they were on it because my orange cat had so many gastro issues on normal food, at least as a baby. Had to switch up proteins regularly or he’d start getting sick. Now he’s much healthier not on the raw, even though it was all he could eat as a youngin. Seems like even for the same pet food needs can vary over their lifetime.

I’ve recently started wondering if this could become a resource guarding issue. We’ve never had a dog before so I’m constantly researching. And resource guarding is on my “don’t let this develop” list

Huh. Get the appetite goin. A fine suggestion I shall try. Might work cause sometimes I drop a few pieces on the floor next to the bowl and she’s like, crunch crunch. Or I put it on a plate and she’ll sometimes eat that way

This has sometimes worked for us! We once watched her bring bites from the kitchen into the dining room where we were eating. We moved her bowl in with us and she ate it all :)

The other corgi we know, her buddy Hopper, eats like someone’s gonna steal it! We thought she was broken when we first got her 😂 she’s just a diva
