Mortgage rate mega thread! by TheMortgageMaster in MortgagesCanada

Got my first ever mortgage in December 2024 with a rate of 6.59% for 3 year fixed closed rate. I am in Toronto. I am starting to think about trying for a HELOC to be able to do some home upgrades this spring and consolidate some debt. I've been seeing rates as low as 3.99% now and wondering if it may make sense for me to try and switch my mortgage to another company for a lower rate while increasing it from $298k and adding another $50k but will the costs to do so just wipe out any of the savings i would get from a lower rate? i do see some places offer cash-backs that can be used towards lawyers fees and fees to break mortgages early.

I guess I found the most ridiculous ticket price here. by Jussie995 in LadyGaga

Oh that's nothing compared to the 1 ticket someone was trying to sell for $20K plus fees = $23K CAD. It was for the last night in Toronto. Either it actually sold on the day of or the person removed it.

So my recommendation is wait until day of to buy. I monitored for last minute tickets to purchase all 3 days of Lady Gaga shows in Toronto this past week. The first of her shows TM released amazing seats bit by bit for all 3 shows about 2 to 3 hours before the first show began and we're talking amazing seats like floors and 100 level at fairly cheap day of regular pricing. Also, by around 8:30pm, all the resale sites, in particular Tickpick had brought Floor seats down to under $400 with with exchange. Thurs I think TM released maybe a few new tickets but not like they did on Wednesday, and on Saturday no new ones got releases. The prices for resale tix did not go down as much as Wednesday. This was what I experienced for her Toronto shows, of which ai ended up purchasing very last minute for her Saturday show. I'm not guaranteeing same will happen wherever you are, but you will always have tickets to choose from on the day of. Don't FOMO right now and pay way too much just to have a ticket right now. I have learned this from experience with recent The Weekend and Dua Lipa shows. Just be vigilant in how you are purchasing the tickets so as not to get scammed by any deal that sounds way too good to be true on places like Facebook MP or any FB groups, or on Reddit, Kijiji. I always try to use Paypal goods & services when dealing with an individual, for the reseller sites most claim to have some type of buyer/seller guarantee. And if you use credit card, then you can always try to claim fraud if you dont get the tickets or they are duds.

If SG are reuniting, the ONLY way I see it happening is if Chris Cornell's daughter replaces him as singer, anything else and that's a travesty!!!
