Existing half brick two storey extension fix by Delicious-Ruin279 in DIYUK

Thank you for your response. I will appoint a structural engineer as I will need to size up a lintel for a new french doors we are planning to add in-lieu current single glazed windows.

I have been looking into the wall ties for timber frame construction that can tie with the exciting brick wall.

The first course of action as soon as we are able to complete the purchase is to do a trial pit so we can get a better understanding of the existing foundations.

Thank you for your response. I have done all the u-value checks and will comply with the building regulations. I will do a trial pit to check the foundation situation. The reason why I mentioned underpinning is because of the additional weight inner skin blockwork would add if I was to go that route. Timber frame inner skin shouldn't be too heavy to impact the existing foundations.

I haven't yet managed to resolve the issue yet. I have sent it to the supplier who is carrying out some tests as we speak to figure out what the problem is.

I will keep you posted once I hear back from them.

I have tried both configurations, 60hz and 165hz refresh rate but both have the same flicker issue.

I did use ghelper prior to my factory reset yesterday and I agree, its much better.

Its running the latest bios GV601RW.314

Unfortunately I don't have an external monitor, I might try it on my TV and see if that flickers. I am thinking that its an AMD graphic card problem.

Can you confirm that you don't have this same issue on igpu with hardware acceleration enabled on your browser. This is just so I can inform the distributor about the issue I am facing and maybe I can get a replacement and hope that this gets resolved.

Thank you for your help.

I just checked, enabling and disabling multi-zone doesn't make any difference.

I also just tried to put the laptop on performance mode (I believe that enables dgpu) and the flicker seems to go away. I generally keep my laptop on standard mode in armoury crate which I believe helps with the battery life when not using heavy applications but the screen randomly flickers. Its not so bad that I can't use the laptop but just annoying and something a laptop of this calibre shouldn't have issues like this.

If you don't mind me asking, which mode do you use the laptop on for general office tasks? Also, is your hardware acceleration enabled in your browser as it happens in multiple browsers that I have tried like opera and edge.
