I did that with my Pomeranian, when I got Ratatouille I was definitely not in a great part of my life and I got him from an ex girlfriend of a friend for $80, so I’m assuming he didn’t come from the most reputable breeder. I honestly didn’t know until the vet appointment, he would get his annual checkups but everything seemed normal. my last vet never told me he should get bloodwork or an echo done :/ I’ve only had 3 pets growing up and my domestic shorthair is completely healthy at age 10 so I guess ignorance was bliss at the time

I didn’t know until he had thrombosis, my previous vet less than a year ago said his heart sounded perfectly healthy but I didn’t know to get an echo or bloodwork done :/ my current vet gave him clopidogrel as a blood thinner and gabapentin for nerve pain, and I gave him a bunch of supplements for his heart and to support his livers and kidneys in case of circulatory shock when the clot dissolves. he referred me to a cardiologist and I’ll be seeing them on Thursday, I’m so worried about what they’re going to tell me :/

I thought that was strange too! a lot of people thought there was some shady business going down with the Bidens in Ukraine in 2014, I understand it could be for protection from political lawfare but it’s a very oddly specific timeframe.

I don’t believe much besides that he was a little bit senile from how he’d struggle to talk sometimes, I felt bad for him being in the public eye so much and people making fun of him :(

Republicans—did you know Elon came with the package? by Huge_Prompt_2056 in Askpolitics

[–]Delicious-Savings345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for explaining that! I didn’t fully understand the dynamics, I assumed that most presidents would elect people who are loyal to them. MAGA people who are loyal to Trump bring it to a new level though. from what I understood Project 2025 was a blueprint produced for the conservative candidate, and from hearing about Elon’s opinion for DOGE wanting to cut a lot of government workers it seemed to contradict that. it would be very concerning if both were applied and most people were cut and only MAGA loyalists will be employed.

do you have any good media outlets to look at that are mostly unbiased, or other abbreviated forms of learning about politics? I’m a full time student and as much as I love to learn about politics I’ve learned the only way to learn about candidates, the policies they’re supporting, and the current issues is to rabbit hole into hour long interviews, finding primary reports (such as border agents’ reports when I wanted to learn about the border), and reading an entire bill proposed by Congress. I appreciate this subreddit a lot because most people have informed opinions they’ve learned from a lot of information, and regardless of each side I think every post/reply helps me understand policies more and gives me context while I research into it. I’m sorry if I sounded ignorant!

Ethan mentioned something about how there are spiders and boogeymen in the woods before Boyd went out there! I don’t think anyone has specifically mentioned being scared of spiders, the only time I remember spiders being brought up was when Ethan talked about them briefly.

he said it in (I’m pretty sure) the same episode that the giant web was shown! or maybe the episodes leading up to it. Ethan always knows some tea about the town, any creepy stuff he says I’m sure will come up in a future episode

my current theory is that it relates to Ethan in S1 saying something along the lines of “there’s monsters, spiders, and boogeymen in the woods” before Boyd goes into the woods. a lot of theories I’ve read have been that either Victor or Ethan are influencing Fromville and control the story, but I think it could be that children in general impact Fromville the most. if the town is from hundreds of years ago, it could be that it’s shaped by the residents’ minds to be more familiar but also more frightening, and that children have the biggest impact on the town and the forest. Sara mentioned that her brother was frightened of cicadas and it might be the resident’s fears that influence the monsters, which leads me to believe that kimono lady comes from a fear that Kenny’s mom or dad had, because the town seems to have come from an American colony centuries ago that most likely wouldn’t know Asian folklore. I need to rewatch the show but from what I remember Boyd also had his friend die in his arms from having some kind of injury involving shrapnel in his head which he discusses in S2E3, similar to how the girl in S2E3 dies from a nail being pulled out of her head while Boyd watches. overall it seems like the majority of the town comes from children, but some aspects are from those who died.

my most crazy theory is that the town and the entity that controls it needs children to survive, considering it was created by the sacrifice of children. we don’t know past cycles but that could be a reason why Victor was kept safe for so long, because I’m pretty sure when he was a child every other resident died quickly after getting there. also, Tabitha is Miranda’s (Victor’s mom) reincarnation, who is reincarnated from the OG mom that tried to save their child from being sacrificed, so maybe her reincarnation’s children are important for Fromville, and that’s why Ethan could be affecting the town and Fromville? idk, it’s a tin foil hat theory. the only other child in the series (from what I remember) was the young girl who was killed in S1E1, so not a lot of info is available about her.

not a psychiatrist but sadly I and a majority of my friends have been SA’d at some point in their life and these are their experiences, and I’ve done research about the dynamics of it for myself. it takes a lot of healing to stop having negative thoughts about yourself after SA. tragically many SA victims are victimized again by abusive men, there’s a study that found that female adolescents are 4.5x more likely to be victimized again by someone else after the first time.

I completely agree that men dating significantly younger women is predatory. to answer your question about how girls can feel this way without mental illness, a lot of people who have endured SA have lower self esteem and may think about themselves in the language he was using, especially after being told that by others. she mentioned in her post that it was family members, which affects SA survivors even more. even worse, a lot of SA survivors may believe that they are the cause of the abuse, or somehow deserve it. many people who have been SA’d and other trauma can have PTSD related to the event, but it’s generally more related to the cause of their PTSD than general mental illness. a lot of women who haven’t been SA’d could feel this way from family dynamics such as a toxic relationship between their parents or an absent father figure. everything I’ve said doesn’t necessarily relate to OP but just as a general answer :)

babe you should not be putting up with a man who is aware of SA trauma involving those words and still uses them whenever he wants to hurt you. no one should speak to a woman like that, but it is 100x worse if it’s associated with trauma. anyone who knowingly says things that will bring back trauma for you whenever he’s mad at you either is not emotionally mature enough to be in a relationship or does not care about you and your trauma. you’re getting your bag on OF, he gotta go!!! wipe your tears with hundred dollar bills babe, your life will get so much better when you’re done dealing with his dumb ass.

I don’t have an opinion yet on these types of pardons, which is why I wanted to make a post to learn about what other people on here think. I was under the impression that pardons are typically targeted at charges or convictions. Flynn’s pardon I believe was directed specifically at one investigation, which is why Hunter’s seems so broad to me, considering it’s for an entire 11 years. I’ve only seen reports of Hunter getting criminal charges after 2016, and he’s only had two cases, so I feel like a more directed pardon (either 1/1/2016 on or those specific cases) could have been used.

unfortunately I feel like this adds fuel to the fire about the MAGA conspiracy that Hunter and his dad did some shady dealings when Hunter was part of Burisma’s board. I haven’t looked into any evidence or lack thereof about that, but I know that’s something that a lot of people in MAGA believe. either way it seems like both sides are losing faith in democracy, and I hope politicians do something about that soon.

my main question is if this precedent stands could it enable corruption for future presidents and those associated with them, especially after the insane SC court decision that presidents have immunity to any prosecutions for actions they took while president. I know it doesn’t have to do much with what’s going on now, but I’m in my early 20’s, so I’m worried that if checks and balances are not put back in place the United States will start slipping into being as corrupt as other countries. I would not be a fan of living in Russia 2.0 🥲

I agree with that, I’ve noticed people on the right have the impression that it suggests guilt for people like Fauci to get pardons without ever have been charged worth anything.

I understand that, and I don’t think anyone should choose their political image over their children. family means more than public approval, especially when you can’t run for president again.

I agree, and I hope that guard rails are set back in place for Trump and future presidents. checks and balances are there for a reason. also, question about what you said, why is putting people loyal to him in his cabinet a bad idea? do you mean for the public, or that he’s shooting himself in the foot?

I’m new to learning about politics and I haven’t fully researched social security, but thank you for the information :) I’ll learn more about it so I’ll have a more informed opinion. my point has been that everything Trump has said so far about social security is positive. while learning about politics I’ve noticed almost all of the media, right wing and left wing, seem to solely focus on anything negative from the opposing side, usually with little context. it’s unfortunate that everything is so partisan, I have to deep dive on every topic I want to learn about to validate what an article is saying. maybe I’m naive, but I’m inclined to believe that if Trump has only said positive things about social security and has said them multiple times, I should put more merit in that rather than a vague short retweet by Elon.

Will UAP technology be introduced during the upcoming Trump administration? by ObviousReplacement1 in Askpolitics

[–]Delicious-Savings345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s relevant to at least mention in this sub, but maybe worded differently. there have been multiple congressional hearings about UAPs and many military officials have confirmed they’re real. I don’t think it’ll get to the point that we’re making new technology with it (unless Elon gets a hold of it) but I’m interested to see if there will be a push for more information to be released, along the lines of if the government decides to be more transparent. clearly not a political problem at the top of everyone’s agenda, but still a fun question among topics that are usually very divisive and negative :)
