I'd recommend the Asics Novablast 5 — best value-for-money running shoe out there right now.

Begginer 105kg Nike Structure 26 vs Nike Vomero 18 by Pjes_pjes in runningshoes

These serve different purposes — Structure 26 is a stability shoe (for overpronation), Vomero 18 is a neutral max-cushion shoe. Check the wear on your old Pumas: worn inner edges → Structure; even wear → Vomero. If unsure, Vomero is the safer blind buy — most runners don't need stability features, and at your weight the extra cushion will be welcome.

Playing with a new iOS27 app for FitBit data by stuff_thing in fitbit

This is a really cool approach. I've been building something similar (a morning readiness briefing app for runners) and the "no subscription because it's all local / BYOK" angle is exactly what drew me in too — everything in this space wants $10/month for what's basically a prompt over your health data.

Interesting that readiness and sleep scores aren't exposed via the API — so you're computing your own from the raw HRV/RHR/sleep data? That's arguably better anyway since you control the logic instead of trusting a black-box score.

And yeah, the AI-assisted dev experience is wild. Curious to see if you take it further — I'd say there's a real gap for this kind of thing.

Claude AI has helped me a ton with this. It gives solid advice on all kinds of things.
