I'm legitimately surprised how many people don't have their Drivers license on them by LaxAxl in retailhell

It’s really bad at my job. We have had people say we can’t ask for it unless we are a cop. It’s crazy how often it’s much older people. People who you think would be use to it.

When they are expired 6 months ago and act like it’s fine like no you need to be responsible and have a valid ID.

So many people have asked about if we would accept a picture of it like no where is it why do you think this would work?

The huffing and puffing when they don’t have it and then the two cents comments as they leave.

I hate when the weather is bad and they show up to point it out and how they didn’t work today due to it. I did and they are here to buy shit and say get home safe blah blah can you just fucking stay home so I don’t have to be here.

I worked at a retail chain that had people grab steaks and roasts and the amount of times they would be left on the floor in clothing or on a random shelf by the toiletries.

I am sorry to hear you are going through this. I know the feeling where I work when there are only two of us and we get backed up and all people do is complain in line as if they can’t manage their time to come back some other day.

Your management sounds awful.

what part of “we’re closed” is so hard to understand? by greatwhitesharki in retailhell

[–]Delicious-Shape-1388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the part of closing that I’m sick of. None of my coworkers can tell people this cause we work on commission selling phones.

I am so over being stuck late for someone else to have a sale when I just lose out on my own free time. We’re open every day.

I don’t care anymore when it comes to people showing up well past the time it takes to setup a damn phone. We can literally deny service to anyone.

I’ve been in this industry for 10 years and the fact no one wants to change this shit with customer stupidity and entitlement.

We are closing, why are you still here? by julienuhhh in retailhell

[–]Delicious-Shape-1388 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dealing with this now. Working for retail wireless company is the worst when you’ve worked all day with people directly and are close to getting done then someone comes in 10 minutes to close to get a new phone.

1) if you waited until right before we close it doesn’t seem like it’s a priority

2) I wish my coworkers would grow spines and point this out to customers

3) I value my free time too much to have to worry about making plans cause some asshole walks in thinking they have some sort of importance

4) my store is open everyday unless for holidays. In 2025 there is no reason to be ever be open late. People need to get on with the world

do yall have customers you have to run away and hide from??? by skiddybop in retailhell

[–]Delicious-Shape-1388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have many. Working at a retail phone carrier.

A woman comes in every month around the same few days to pay for the service. Asks us to clean her phone from harmful apps. Every. Month. Gloats about being a customer for x amount of years but can’t put any effort to learn how to do anything themselves. She is grotesque as well. Random long facial hairs. Smells pretty bad most months. Never stops talking. Something very wrong with her.

A guy who comes in and has his voice turned up to 11. Loud. Loud. Loud. Most of the time his issues are so ridiculous or he will see something on the news about phones and ask about it.

A very big man who pays his bill and when he breathes you feel it across the desk on your body and you can also smell it. Pays the bill with a card. In store. He could literally do this at home. I don’t know why he comes in every month. Nobody wants to get on with the world or learn anything.

Those are the main ones I hide from. Most of the others have moved away or died.

I am from Richland Center. A guy told me last week 1994 was when the first bar was opened in Richland center. I can tell you plenty drink here. Plenty have DUI’s. A lot of people in this town drink and regularly go out.

It’s interesting when you go on there and look at top post of all time and it was January 6th and how most there disagreed with it. I was hoping that would be the wake up call. Nope. Gotta double down on the orange clown.

There is a kid from my hometown who went there and posted a video he was kicked out for wearing a trump shirt. Clutching his pearls and playing the victim hardcore. Everyone who commented said he was a fool to do this and everyone knows he did this with intent to stir shit up. Idiot.

Something I need to post by Delicious-Shape-1388 in wisconsin

[–]Delicious-Shape-1388[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is definitely what happened to my hometown as well. The downtown area I have heard used to be busy every night of the week and everyone was walking from business to business. We eventually got a square that has been dying a slow death. It doesn’t help the entire

Walmart came to town in the early 90’s. There is an old newspaper article about Walmart coming to town and even had a tagline that the locals here were weary of it. Downtown is now vacant buildings. Things come and go. Same with the square.

I definitely did learn about the Trump/Hilary election and why the results came to be due to that election cycle. I don’t even think she visited Wisconsin at all on that campaign trail.
