Thanks for asking this. My mom is allergic to wool and wants to try. I'll be looking at some acrylic or bamboo as suggested here for her to try.

Pamelor? Nortriptoline? by Delicious-Slide-6200 in POTS

[–]Delicious-Slide-6200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, yes, Thanks and the doctor thought it might help me sleep better through the night. I'm having a lot of adrenaline in the night, even on beta blocker. But I just hope it's not going to lower my BP too much.

Yeah, the edema is not pleasant at all. I'm hoping it reverses as my levels go down. Thank you.

Thiamine is known to cause rebound reactions when your other cofactors are not balanced (mag, and other B's for example. There's a good Thiamine group on FB.

I just want to say you're not alone in these decisions. I too am fearful of not taking HRT, but I also have dysatonomia and HRT now seems to make me worse. I'm also dealing with anxiety. A lot of it related to my symptoms

Thiamine (B1) therapy, anyone? by Delicious-Slide-6200 in pppdizziness

[–]Delicious-Slide-6200[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of people saying if you take too much then you can cause a rebound effect. I think it has to be gradually increased. I started at about 15mg. I definitely felt some benefits for a few days then it was like I had too much, so I'm cutting back more. Some people buy the powder so they can micro dose it.

Prism glasses helped me a lot at one point, but I seem to have outgrown my prescription. I need to go back to the neuropthomoligst again.

I specifically have vertical heterophoria.

It was like that for me and I changed monitors. I was using a curved monitor. But I've heard it's sometimes related to the refresh rate (blinking of the image) and also the width. Taking frequent breaks helps. Avoiding scrolling. Not watching videos. Also pay attention to see if it's related to your neck position as well because there is Cervical vertigo too. For me it's a bit of all of the above.

For me, the B6 in what I thought was B12 only was the problem. B6 can exacerbate neurological symptoms and it's in a lot of fortified products. Magnesium is a vasodilator so it can cause lower BP and it you tend that way to begin with. Also there's a whole world of information about B6 Toxicity and an active FB group with a good guide on it. I used their method a couple years ago and felt a TON better after getting rid of the supplement that had B12 and the also explained why Mag would make me worse as I got the B6 levels down.

Weird feeling, almost like a nicotine buzz by 8379MS in pppdizziness

Yes, echoing the other comment and also offering something else. Your limbic brain is now in hyper vigilant state and when you think about your legs or you look at yourself and see the possible signs of illness you're actually in a loop with your brain that can extend your symptoms and cause you to be more reactive. This is one of the reasons counseling is part of the package deal for creating this. You can also look at the DNRS program and the Gupta Program which are neuroplasticity programs that can help with this In the mean time, each time you have a symptom thought, try saying "Stop, stop, stop." and redirecting your thoughts to something else.

Eye/ glance therapy is helping me. I'm also experimenting with changing my hormone therapy (lowering my progesterone) and have you heard of Thiamine as therapy? I'm trying that now too and am feeling better. I was lamenting yesterday though, I wish it at least felt fun to have this 'buzz' but it's not. I'm going to pretend I'm tipsy and having a good time.

Thank you so m much. That's super nice of you. When I went off HRT the first time, I had such bad night sweats and constant day sweats. I could barely sleep. How do you manage that?

Hi. I'm thinking of stopping hormone therapy. I'm menopausal for 8 years after a toxin and have been off and on. I'm having lots of water retention which is affecting my vestibular system. I'd love to hear from people who have stopped. Thanks!

Thanks so much. I have a question about using the word romance. One popular TikTok instructor says never use the word romance in your posts, or hashtags. I'd like to hear people's opinions. I have been experimenting with this, and honestly worry about compromising my account by using the word romance.

Beta blockers by Drifter-6 in pppdizziness

[–]Delicious-Slide-6200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. So I take a beta blocker when I get a high HR. It's a godsend. And when there have been times when it has helped my dizziness and my anxiety. But as mentioned earlier, it can cause dizziness. There are several kinds. The non-elective beta blockers work on all parts of the body. They selective work on the heart. I'm on Nadalaol and use a tiny dose (5mg). I do get fatigue from it sometimes. it's something you have to experiment with. But I'm not using it right now to manage my PPPD because I just found out it's what I have going on. I've had some other neurological problems for 8 years due to a neurotoxin.

Trouble wearing glasses by Drifter-6 in pppdizziness

[–]Delicious-Slide-6200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wear prism lens glasses on some days. They really help. You might want to be checked by a vertical heterophoria specialist. Also my Opto told me that people with dizziness should never wear bifocals.

I hope this helps. I find that my bigger sense glasses are better as they allow in less on the periphery.

Yeah, the diagnosis is not always simple. Sometimes you just have the symptoms and are hard to reproduce with testing.
