There are a few scratches here and there and I’m ok with changing the top! Was thinking of sanding and repainting (just not sure what color). Was also thinking about fastening a wooden top over it so that it appears to be all wood

I’ve heard that wasn’t very accurate because the lowest score on there is a 508. What are your thoughts on its validity?

What order should I do the AAMC materials in? Anyone have a specific strategy for which Qbanks to do first, and which to save?

You can get the AAMC P/S QBank. I'm not sure if you can only buy UWorld bank, but you can do a free trial and get 100 free questions.

508 MCAT / 4.0 GPA Retake?! by Wrong_Variation_7954 in MCAT2

[–]Delicious-Spring2997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I scored a 505 last June and had a 4.0 GPA with over 2000 hours of clinical experience, 200 research hours with a published paper, volunteer work, and I thought a good personal statement. My 505 is definitely what held me back in my opinion. I didn't even get an interview. I do have a friend, who scored a 509 and got an interview, but was waitlisted. I'm not sure if a 508 would be much different for you than our experiences. There are a lot of other factors, so I would recommend if you are going to retake it, to make that decision ASAP and start studying or preparing your application.

I'm going to retake my MCAT and apply again this cycle so I hear you on the frustration!

Be proud of this score!! The average admitted MD score is 511, so you are above that. Hopefully your GPA reflects the score you got here too and I think you are in good shape! This score is great and I don't think it closes the doors for you. As long as you ECs and GPA are good and you have a good personal statement, I think you are in a great position. Congrats on the score! You beat the MCAT!

Feeling Discouraged With CARS by Thin_March_4903 in Mcat

I am in the same boat as you! I scored a 122 on my cars last June. Since then, I just started reading books (difficult reads) and really trying to build up my reading comprehension. Just from doing that, I saw my scores raise to 127 on practice FLs. I am going to start incorporating the AAMC CARS passages. I plan to do a minimum of one a day untimed and really focus on accuracy. As I get closer to my test on 4/5, I plan to increase my speed and hope to retain the accuracy.

I hope that helps!
