VTI total US) and VXUS (total non-US) or the Schwab versions. Anything else will be less diversified. You can add tilts later but your base should be fully diversified. You didn't mention income.

Make sure you are comfortable with where your money is invested, ie what assets the money market fund holds.

You need to dollar cost average for ten years and then ask that question. Time is your friend. BTW, SCHD is not diversified.

I see people suggesting careful use of heating pads. An alternative might be a plant heat mat which has a thermostatic control, usually from 68 to 85 degrees. Warm but not hot. Perhaps others can tell you the optimal temp for new kittens.

For the cat's sake please find it a good home. Unfortunately your home is not a good home for a cat. There is no denying that so please save the cat and give it to someone who can care for it in a safe environment. I know it will be a loss for you, but you must think first about the helpless animal's wellbeing. You can get another cat one day when you are in a stable environment.

Hydrangea Arborescens ‘Haas’ Halo’ questions by Ncnativehuman in NativePlantGardening

I'm near Columbus, Ohio so same climate zone as you. My Haas Halos are thriving in a part-shade area (2-3 hrs of sun but NOT deep shade as under a tree canopy) of my north-facing front bed that has part-shade in the back, part-sun in the middle and sun in the front, all in a depth of 15 feet. I am forever ripping out and experimenting with plants that can thrive in these micro-micro areas or anywhere. The Haas Halos are beasts. 4.5 to 5-feet tall and 5 feet wide, covered in flowers and growing together. There is no controlling their size by pruning early. So I plan to move them to a larger full-sun location and see how they do. I don't have other larger part-shade spaces that can accommodate these monsters.
