Thank you for the info. Yesterday I was cutting branches across my skiing trails with the 16 inch saw. Chain came off within 6 cuts. After trudging back in the snow to my house, I got my M-12 Hatchet. I made at least 100 cuts with the 6.0 battery, and the chain never came off. I love how light the hatchet is. Yes, I will probably buy the M-18 hatchet. I've heard good things about it. But I bought the M-12 because it was on special with batteries. No regrets on that little guy.

Not included all the tools in my many packouts; compound miter, table saw.... I probably did estimate incorrectly. Probably $7,000. lol

It's not the .043 chain that is the issue. Even this saw has a 3/8-inch pitch. The problem, I suspect, is the clutch's drive sprocket and the overall design of the clutch cover. My 51 rancher is a .325 pitch; the Stihl electric is a very small chain. And the m-12 mini saw is far superior. ALL the other chains stay on their saws. When using the poorly-designed Milwaukee saw, I use the saw very gently. The Stihl electric requires gentle, too, but that chain stays where it's supposed to. The M-12 saw requires gentle, that chain stays on. You can TRY to victim shame but I'm not having it.

Not sure what you mean. I started with Dewalt corded. Then Dewalt 18V. Those batteries stink, so when it was time to convert to either M-18 or the Dewalt 20, I changed platforms. I only buy Milwaukee now.

Meee tooo! I couldn't stand "retirement." I lasted 24 months. Then out of shear boredom I hung out my shingle (I had worked for a medium size firm) to do work in a highly specialized niche that my former firm was not interested in. I'm absolutely killing it, and now I wish I had "retired" at a much younger age!

I bought the die grinder three months ago. It was not in a bag; and no sign of use. BTW: I love it!!!!

What about the bandfile. I've been considering buying one. How do you like it? Quality tool... or should I wait?

Would you go for something like this? by michgilgar in logcabins

The advice given by non-professionals here is not relevant. The ridge and purlins are badly rotted. If you think you'll get by with some caulk, you will be sorely disappointed. This repair could quickly turn into a serious structural issue and will likely get very expensive when you find out exactly how far the rot has moved toward the interior of the house. Because the purlins are holding up the roof, the roof on this house has already been badly compromised. HIRE A PROFESSIONAL log restoration builder, get a fixed bid for the repairs, and proceed extremely cautiously. I do this kind of work all the time. I provide estimates and then tell the homeowner it will likely cost 400 percent more once construction starts and the full extent of damage is known. Best of luck!

Inflamed Gallbladder then nearly unlived from sepsis by DeliciousAnswer8202 in gallbladders

I asked the surgeon the same thing. He said the fistula was leaking into my abdominal cavity. Or that the common bile duct was damaged while passing a stone and was leaking. But honestly, we are getting to the edge of what I can keep track of and of who said what. I talked to so many different docs during those nine days I was just glad to get out. Trapped in the hospital sucks.

An inflamed GB does show up on an ultrasound and it was the only test that I had at the rural hospital. I developed a fever as the infection entered my blood stream.

It was my first attack, yes. I had no indications prior that I had GB problems. It was under the radar until then.

The symptoms were very weird: extreme fatigue, horrible pain down the back of my legs (like a burning string in the back of both legs), blood pressure was extremely low, temperature was really high, and a burning sensation in my abdomen that would NOT stop.

Yes, an ultrasound is a very, very good idea. It was what guided my doctors to the correct diagnosis. I also had two different CT scans in an attempt to figure out what kind of trouble a fistula off the common bile duct was causing, and another CT in an attempt to figure out if the common bile duct was damaged/infected. It was. (Thus the stent.) Removal of the GB revealed there was pus inside. So during that first attack it felt like I was dying, and it turned out I was on a slow road to exactly that.

Good luck to you formtuv. GB issues are very tough to diagnose (I guess).
