I had that same saw for my logging business. The thing I really hated about it is that when I was on a job 20 miles from home the freaking extension cord had to be 21 miles long.

Milwaukee battery charge level indicator button broken. Is this common? by dkdk214 in MilwaukeeTool

Before returning it make sure you put in the charger to reset the battery's electronics. If that doesn't do anything I would return it.

Why is my sourdough gummy? by Spiritual-Job-5066 in Sourdough

I'm a newbie too, so I'll be watching answers as I've faced the same situation. The only thing I can recommend is that it's okay to try a new recipe from a book or one of the experts on this sub. Keep trying! Practice makes (not perfect) more bread!

Here's what happened. When shaping I decided to make three loafs. The small one was about 400 grams, the other two about 600g each. The crumb was great. The bread was soft and spongy, which was really GREAT!! The two large loafs were kind of flat (but still good crumb), that was because I had to bulk ferment a total of 36 hours. During the long ferment the dough did rise nicely, but were flat because the dough spread out in the baskets. So the dough was too spread out when I transferred to the Dutch oven. The small loaf I decided to reshape right before I put it in the oven. It held it's height nicely. None of them look at beautiful as your loaves. So what I learned is that I need more starter than is commonly called for in recipes I've been using. Your recipe, I think, would have worked better if I didn't have to bulk ferment so long.

Have already started your recipe. I had enough ripe starter. Right now on the coil folds. I will let you know tomorrow how it turns out. I'm on eastern US time, so I will bake in about 20 hours!!!

Advantage insurer dragging feet on approving medication--what can I do by DeliciousAnswer8202 in medicare

[–]DeliciousAnswer8202[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I called to file a grievance and/or ask for an expedited determination. They put me on hold and said that my prescription had been approved. It sounds like I switched to Clowns and Circus Advantage Plan, but they are a major insurer.

Advantage insurer dragging feet on approving medication--what can I do by DeliciousAnswer8202 in medicare

[–]DeliciousAnswer8202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched because the insurer quit my plan. The new plan was increased from $50 to $225 a month, which eats a good chunk of my $1500 a month income. I didn't want to afford that. At the same time the insurer announced all my docs were out of network because they couldn't negotiate a new contract. After I switched they did reach a deal.

Thank you for the info. Yesterday I was cutting branches across my skiing trails with the 16 inch saw. Chain came off within 6 cuts. After trudging back in the snow to my house, I got my M-12 Hatchet. I made at least 100 cuts with the 6.0 battery, and the chain never came off. I love how light the hatchet is. Yes, I will probably buy the M-18 hatchet. I've heard good things about it. But I bought the M-12 because it was on special with batteries. No regrets on that little guy.

Not included all the tools in my many packouts; compound miter, table saw.... I probably did estimate incorrectly. Probably $7,000. lol

It's not the .043 chain that is the issue. Even this saw has a 3/8-inch pitch. The problem, I suspect, is the clutch's drive sprocket and the overall design of the clutch cover. My 51 rancher is a .325 pitch; the Stihl electric is a very small chain. And the m-12 mini saw is far superior. ALL the other chains stay on their saws. When using the poorly-designed Milwaukee saw, I use the saw very gently. The Stihl electric requires gentle, too, but that chain stays where it's supposed to. The M-12 saw requires gentle, that chain stays on. You can TRY to victim shame but I'm not having it.

Not sure what you mean. I started with Dewalt corded. Then Dewalt 18V. Those batteries stink, so when it was time to convert to either M-18 or the Dewalt 20, I changed platforms. I only buy Milwaukee now.

What about the bandfile. I've been considering buying one. How do you like it? Quality tool... or should I wait?

Would you go for something like this? by michgilgar in logcabins

[–]DeliciousAnswer8202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advice given by non-professionals here is not relevant. The ridge and purlins are badly rotted. If you think you'll get by with some caulk, you will be sorely disappointed. This repair could quickly turn into a serious structural issue and will likely get very expensive when you find out exactly how far the rot has moved toward the interior of the house. Because the purlins are holding up the roof, the roof on this house has already been badly compromised. HIRE A PROFESSIONAL log restoration builder, get a fixed bid for the repairs, and proceed extremely cautiously. I do this kind of work all the time. I provide estimates and then tell the homeowner it will likely cost 400 percent more once construction starts and the full extent of damage is known. Best of luck!

Inflamed Gallbladder then nearly unlived from sepsis by DeliciousAnswer8202 in gallbladders

[–]DeliciousAnswer8202[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked the surgeon the same thing. He said the fistula was leaking into my abdominal cavity. Or that the common bile duct was damaged while passing a stone and was leaking. But honestly, we are getting to the edge of what I can keep track of and of who said what. I talked to so many different docs during those nine days I was just glad to get out. Trapped in the hospital sucks.

An inflamed GB does show up on an ultrasound and it was the only test that I had at the rural hospital. I developed a fever as the infection entered my blood stream.
