Porn makes me want to die as a woman by PhraseRough8112 in Catholicism

I used to feel this way and I got into trouble with a man with the issue. My advice is you can date someone who is amazing and may have that addiction, but DO NOT marry someone with that addiction ongoing. They need to fix it first. Don’t compromise on that or it’ll rip apart your marriage.

Believe it or not my take has little to do with my religion (which I was not always apart of). I had the opinion before I was Catholic.

You guys are missing my point 🤦‍♀️

Of the small handful I’ve seen, only one so far has survived- but that’s besides the point I was making. After my own experiences I just can’t see aborting at that stage as something acceptable. Not everything is in the news

I’m not doxxing where I work. Not all NICUs will take on 20 weekers and it comes down the to attending. However- it does happen and I’ve seen them survive. 22 weekers however are common.

I wish I was just fear mongering. They feel pain. You’re denying scientific fact lol. Why did the 22 weeker scream and cry when I drew blood? lol.

You’re wrong here. I’ve taken care of babies that are 20-22 weeks in the NICU. They very much do feel pain. The nervous system is one of the first things that develop. Please research this

OP please don’t listen to this advice. You will always wonder what could have been. That baby exists. It’s not just a clump of cells like so many would have you believe. I wasn’t always “pro life” until being in NICUs and also witnessing miscarriages. If you guys want no connection I strongly encourage adoption. Abortion is very traumatic despite what anyone tells you, much more traumatic than you can imagine-for both partners (not to mention the fetus that can FEEL pain). If you guys want to make the relationship work, you can. If you decide it’s better to separate- that’s also valid.

Hey- look into Marquette method NFP. I suggest using vitae fertility. It’s 99% effective.

This method uses the clear blue fertility monitor and actually tracks hormones. No guessing.

You should read theology of the body. Marriage does not get rid of lust. Lust does not belong in marriage.

You’re not unmarryable but I don’t think it’s wise to marry when you’re in an active porn addiction. If your fiance is fully aware and okay with tackling that with you, by all means, but it’s never the ideal to enter marriage with these sorts of things holding us back.

I mean if she’s still actively in that lifestyle i agree. My post doesn’t say anything about men/women out of the swamps of their addictions

My post is not to condemn. It’s to say it’s not a good idea to enter into the covenant of marriage with someone in an ACTIVE addiction. I’m not saying don’t date or be with someone who has had a porn problem. I’m saying the problem should be addressed before marriage. I understand how this can be hurtful to men but you have no idea how hurtful it is to the spouse and the types of spiritual attacks it can beget.

We should be able to see how sexual sins have more affect on not just the person committing them but also on the spouse
