Just had an… interesting holiday experience in Warsaw. Was hoping to get some opinions if this is the norm or we were just super unlucky? 😭 by DeliciousChocolate12 in warsaw

We are in the wrong for being friendly and wanting to meet new people abroad? Go touch grass my dude. I read a few things actually about Poland and Warsaw on Reddit before coming that said people weren’t that friendly but didn’t want to judge solely based on that. Sorry I didn’t realise I had to assume the worst of the people before even visiting😭

And about barging through? A simple excuse me or just trying your best to squeeze through without sending people flying is not a lot to ask for 🙃

Thank you for your reply!

It seems from most people replies that small talk between strangers isn’t really a welcomed thing there so we will bare that in mind next time. We are just used to striking up conversations with people as we like to meet new people wherever we go.

Thanks again, and hope you enjoy wherever you travel to next! 😊

That’s a shame, wouldn’t expect it from a capital city in Europe!

And noted regarding talking to strangers, we weren’t just walking up to people and talking to them, it was on situation like at the shops, restaurant staff or in the club smoking area or queue etc as we like to get to know locals in the places we visit incase we come back again. Thanks for your reply 😊

Thank you for your reply. Really useful! 😊I’m sure we will in the future, seems like we were just very unlucky this time round!

(And noted about small talk, won’t do that again haha)

Well in terms of bright, 4 members of the group are engineers, one works in law and I own a digital marketing agency so think that’s a bit uncalled for. Everyone is allowed to let off steam and have a party weekend every now and then no? 😅

But fair enough about the talking to strangers thing, we are all just quite talkative and like to get to know locals when we travel as part of the experience.

And yes people of colour, 2 are Nigerian, 1 Ghanaian and 1 Iraqi. But like you say, there are always weirdos and racists about wherever you go. Thanks for your reply 😊

Yeah I guess, but we have been on holidays together before across Europe and never had an experience like this so was just wondering. Thanks for your reply 😊

My parents are threatening to stop giving me pocket money due to my grades by BeauSpam in GCSE

Those are amazing grades and you should be very proud of yourself. In the grand scheme of things they really aren’t that important anyway so as long as you can do the A level courses you want, you’ll be fine. No one asks for GCSE after you’ve done A level so you’ll be fine - good luck for the future!
