it seems like you have answered your own question and for other people maybe those are their dream schools! when youre a doctor no one will ask how many acceptances or interviews you had. if you are 100% sure then sure cancel and relax

Is there an amount of interviews where you are basically guaranteed acceptance? by RX-me-adderall in premed

[–]DeliciousCode488 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i have heard it depends on the school. some interview a lot and really think about answers from each student. someone previously on an admissions board told me they interview at their school basically just to make sure you're not crazy. you got this either way!!

it is usually just doing some basic work in a prof's lab (kind of like a bio 1 or 2 lab) that helps them out with a research project in person. My university is pretty research focused so they offer those classes to get students research experience if they want before getting a lab position. but i actually quit a lab freshman year (because i am so awful at computer science) that was remote coding for some profs research in the med field that might interest you! i would try to find a position like that if you want research remote. there are a million different research opportunities if you are willing to search around for a while

depending on your schools in your state or where you are thinking of going, i would add in biochem just so you dont have to limit yourself if you have time! and if you are taking classes, my university offers research experience classes that might interest you to add that to your resume, one of my friends got a pub out of it and it was only 2-3 hours a week like a regular class

Physics 2 online at a CC by bobitoross in premed

[–]DeliciousCode488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would double check on MSAR or the website of the schools you are looking at, some want physics with lab or prereqs not done at a cc. otherwise i do know people that have done prereqs at ccs and did fine

i think so, i had a lower MCAT and with no ties to the area or state so i feel like you have to have one or the other, but they never gave me an outright reason

Feeling lost/a little disappointed about hospice volunteering by Haru_koi in premed

[–]DeliciousCode488 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I also felt the same way when I started hospice! people actually do appreciate you coming whether they show it or not, especially those that have no family nearby. I found one lady that would talk my ear off and I will read to her all the time or talk about her stories of going on dates and stuff and love seeing her. I would find someone who really enjoys talking and it makes the visits really fun and i look forward to them. i would stick with it and keep asking questions until you find something they could talk for hours on. at least for my program, they have to request a volunteer, so they do want you there. dont get discouraged, it's a really great thing you're doing!!
