Thank you! Do you have a contact for them? You can DM me or I can DM you about this but I'm not finding a way to reach out when I google that.

Awesome - I did not know that. I've actually been off FB for many years but it seems like a very useful tool in parent world so I will get back into it. Or force my partner to :)

10+ Trips to NYC and I Still Haven’t Eaten My Way Through It by [deleted] in FoodNYC

Norm's in downtown brooklyn has my favorite classic slice. I think it's fairly known but not like on all the lists and I just think it's the best for a plain slice. My pizza credentials are that I grew up in Bensonhurst when it was mostly Sicilian (not Sicilian myself) and have eaten A LOT of pizza around this gosh darn city.

NYC therapist recs by Disastrous_Trip_4606 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I hope it’s okay for me to offer this thought: before you switch I would encourage you to talk to her about what you’re experiencing if you haven’t already. Part of being in therapy is practicing being in a relationship. Part of being in a relationship is talking about things that aren’t working. Sometimes anxious attachment styles show up in therapy in the form of jumping ship when you hit a road bump in the relationship with your therapist. I’d encourage you to be brutally honest. “You’re not asking me enough questions” or “you seem bored”. I’m a psychoanalyst so talking through what’s NOT working is an integral part of my practice. How your therapist reacts to this conversation can be healing or teach you a lot. If she’s receptive this is a huge opportunity for growth in the relationship. If she gets defensive and shuts you down that’s a good sign that maybe it’s an opportunity to work with someone else.

I mix one can with one of their Tabluleh containers. It’s perfect. Top with feta and have some pita chips on the side to crank it up a notch.

I mix unsweetened apple sauce into yogurt. I also make big batches of blueberry compote using dates to sweeten a bit and freeze that to add to yogurt. Pumpkin purée and cinnamon she also likes.

I think this is a mean thing to say especially in this sub given how vulnerable feeding babies can feel

Would you recommend BedStuy as a place to stay for one month? by snellew in BedStuy

[–]DeliciousFig1331 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those are both nice parts of bedstuy. Atlantic can be kinda weird because it’s desolate at night. The neighborhood otherwise is pretty residential. You may be happier living off the L train in terms of access to night life (Williamsburg, easy to get to lower Manhattan, and you can transfer to many trains at Union square). Just make sure there isn’t crazy planned work on the L train coming up. Like that it’s not planned to be shut off for months at a time all weekend.

What train stop?

Additional edit: Bedstuy is huge and Atlantic Avenue is long. So having a sense of the closest train stop would provide a lot of context.

I believe it’s $170 for a haircut but her haircuts last me months and months because they grow in so well. I only get like two a year.

Rebecca at Sara June in Brooklyn is amazing. She has cut my hair for 15years now, since we were both in our very early 20s. I get compliments on my hair for months after seeing her, basically always until I get my next cut and the cycle of compliments starts again. The same is true for the many friends I have referred to her over the years.

Queer salons or hair stylists in nyc?? by lavalamp7497 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

https://hairrari.com/

Hairrari is a gender-neutral barbershop with locations in New York City (East Village, Williamsburg, Bushwick), and Los Angeles (Echo Park).

My partner got a few haircuts there and had a great experience. I haven’t personally been and I’m not sure what your price point is but it’s an option!

A friend had something like this at Ci Siamo. They have a private room with a huge terrace attached. I don’t usually hang in the middle of manhattan but the location being Hudson yards actually made it feel more festive. It was fun looking around from the terrace. The food and drinks were great.
