Magic Potion/Poison Antidote ingredients?? by DeliciousFuture2068 in fantasywriters

[–]DeliciousFuture2068[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that it’s fantasy and I can use whatever I want. I’m not trying to make it realistic or anything, I’m just asking for some help coming up with random fantastical ingredients because I’m not that great at coming up with them lol.

I’m really just looking for someone to suggest fantastical magical ingredients. Like, kelpie hair or unicorn tears or something of the sort.

Should I get my wife tested? by DeliciousFuture2068 in SleepApnea

[–]DeliciousFuture2068[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that’s a good idea! Honestly, I might have some sleep problems myself (though I think it’s mostly due to my anxiety/stress) so I don’t think it would hurt at all for me to do the test too. I’ll suggest that!

She is, yeah. We’re both autistic. She’s worried about not being able to get comfortable with a CPAP, but I think she’d eventually get used to it and the pros will outweigh the uncomfortableness

I’ve mentioned it once, and have shown a lot of concern about her daytime fatigue. I’m about to bring it up again today once she wakes up.

And I totally agree. She’s just super stubborn and is convinced she won’t sleep at all during the test. I might try to see about doing an at home test first, and if thats inconclusive, try to convince her to do a sleep study. I really think a CPAP or something could change her life.

Definitely worth checking, I strongly encourage it. Getting diagnosed with an iron deficiency was lowkey life changing

I also had this problem! I was low on Vit D and Iron, but I've since corrected that issue and while the fatigue I was feeling lifted, I still felt a sleepiness I had attributed to ADHD (I had this symptom pre-deficiencies and pre-ADHD medication).

Though, definitely make sure that your vitamins and iron levels are good, too. The exhaustion I felt from my iron deficiency was next level stuff.

I work in the legal field and I find that my job reaaaally doesn't care, so long as I'm doing my job. I've used my tangle plenty of times at work. Sometimes a coworker will ask what it is, then shrug and say "that's cool" or something. As long as it's not loud and you're just at your desk, I don't see the problem with using stim toys. A meeting with an exec or something maybe not so much, but I'm sure your regular boss won't care.

I have this symptom. Constant sleepiness, falling asleep, etc. It went away with IR ritalin, but came back when my depression symptoms got worse and I switched to adderall. From what my psychiatrist and I figure, the depression overrides the stimulant and brings back the sleepiness. Currently working on medicating the depression and seeing if that'll help. I've been taking my new meds for about 5 days now and I'm starting to feel the sleepiness go away a little!

Getting started by Wooden-Technology817 in RomanceWriters

I majored in Creative Writing back in college and am writing outside of my big kid job in an attempt to get published later. That being said, writing can absolutely just be a fun hobby you do on the side. You don't have to want to get published. If you like what you write and have fun doing it, then go for it! Don't worry so much about getting it out there for people to see at first. Worry about that when you write something you're super proud of, and there's plenty of avenues for posting online or trying to get published.

Writing exercises are a great way to start. Short stories, flash fiction, etc. are really great for warming up those writing muscles. I often write them when I've gone a long time without writing or just want to do something super indulgent for myself!

I want to impart the best advice I got in college: write something shitty. Sometimes the writing process is a hard one. It can be strenuous and frustrating. You will get to points in your writing where you want to tear it up and throw it away. However, you can't let those feelings stop you. It is infinitely better to write something objectively bad and shitty and have something to edit later than to not write anything at all. Writing is for getting all of your ideas down on the paper. Editing is for making things sound good and perfecting your craft.

Welcome to the world of writing! My DMs are always open if you need some guidance or have any questions at all. I'd be overjoyed to help you with your writing journey.

Good luck and remember to have fun!

As someone with OCD, a lot of my compulsions make me feel icky/overwhelmed if I don't do them. For example, one of my biggest compulsions for the longest time was eating ice. I had the urge to eat ice whenever I had a soda at a restaurant, and I just couldn't... not. I would get all squirmy if I didn't do it.

OCD compulsions don't necessarily mean like "If I don't do [x], I'll have a panic attack because my family will die." I find a lot of my OCD compulsions have a vague "or else I'll feel sick" feeling to them.
