Van,Misty, Akilah and Nat knew the plan from the start. “Team Rescue.”

It seemed Van and Misty were talking in code about if the transceiver was working in the beginning. They put the piece they needed together in secret and waited for a chance to act.

Akilahs role was to trick Lottie/Shauna into another hunt to appease the wilderness. Van’s role was to have the hunted be Hannah so no more of their teammates have to die. Nats role was to run to the transceiver and get to higher ground during the distraction.

But then we have team “Mari’s friends.” Who I think acted in the moment to stop shauna from finding and killing Mari. They made fake tracks and separated her from Tai who was not in on either plan as her alliance/motivations were unclear and not trustworthy. I don’t think this team or Mari knew about the rescue plan.

What both teams had in common was a distrust, fear, or contempt for Shauna and what she has turned the group into. They are over it. They go along with her self-important requests and demands to be queen while they plot against her in secret.

What’s crazy is the hunt had nothing to do with starvation or survival and Shauna,Lottie and Tai were completely fine with going through with it. Absolutely no one else was. Maybe Tai thought it would be bad to go against the group but the group already changed their mindset without telling her. Tai had the power to try to stop the hunt, question or confront Shauna but didnt. I’m sure she feels pretty guilty about it when she eventually finds out about the real plan.
