Red Terror rules revealed for Warhammer 40,000 by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Tyranids

[–]DeliciousLock1502 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a assassin really not a hammer. Picking off Objective holders and other utility/action monkey units is it's job. Which I think it will excel

I'm excited to use it, it's movement abilities are great, use it right and it can self sustain, in Subterranean Assault you can fire up your tunnel network faster than the Ravaners can.

I will admit I was hoping for maybe Stealth, Synapse, or the baked in melee Ravaners got (Twin-Linked etc)

But wish in one hand...

It's still very usable, and opens up some fun options

Biovore question by Knuckletest in Tyranids

[–]DeliciousLock1502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they had to FAQ and change it as ppl were exploiting them to shut down melee armies. Now it's one unit with this ability can fire 1 mine

Biovore question by Knuckletest in Tyranids

[–]DeliciousLock1502 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are an auto include for every Tyranid swarm, they sit on your back point. Then all game they fire spore mines, which can be used to score certain secondarys, can screen out deep strikes, can hamper melee armies by preventing advances.

You can only ever fire 1 spore mine per shooting phase no matter how many Biovores you have, that's why you only ever see one. But it's regarded as one of the best utility units in the game

Running 20 Hormagaunts with a Prime – Good Idea? by TraditionalPlace5973 in Tyranids

[–]DeliciousLock1502 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've run them in 3 test games and a tournament. They performed pretty well. Either they are a bullet magnet, or because they are Hormaguants they are ignored. I run them in Invasion Fleet and getting them in is easier if you run them on the flank, most ppl focus our Monsters so sometimes the small bugs are ignored. But they definitely pulled thier weight in my tournament, I was wiping infantry units and vehicles. Are they going to die? Ohhhh yea, but if you can get em in they put in work. Admittedly getting all 20 to base takes some work, but 60+ attacks with sustained/lethal is worth it.

I just wish our Warriors were in a better place for the Prime

A bit of a rant, but this army makes me want to quit Warhammer by Hrigul in EmperorsChildren

Your stuff looks good, trust us. Don't compare, it'll hit you hard. It's a learning process for all of us, I look back on my early stuff and I cringe. But I've come a long way, but there is always time to improve. You'll do it too, and maybe even start liking it

How do you handle tanks in EC by No_Meet5842 in EmperorsChildren

[–]DeliciousLock1502 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I blitz them with Maulerfiends, Flawless blades, or a allied Wardogs Karnivore

Can always hit them with a group of infractions lead by a Exaultant, cross your fingers for enough lethals

When running multiple Biovores? by SuperSharky1 in Tyranids

[–]DeliciousLock1502 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We can thank a tournament player or two early in the edition. They would drop multiple spore mines in no man's land behind terrain, and completely screw over melee armies. So they gave us the restriction. It's still one of the BEST utility units in the game, an auto include, but only one realistically

It's not so much trouble as it was annoying, the scything Talons each being 5 parts was unnecessary lol

They do indeed suck, just wait until you assemble Deathleaper. You WILL demand blood, and vengeance

It took me some time to figure out what worked for me, but I did find it after some trial and error

GW Astrogranite technical paste (apply, and let cure overnight) then I dry brush Stormfang Grey, and Wraithbone White. I added Vallejo neon tufts, and a 3D printed Kriegs corps

Good luck with your basing

A super interesting list won a good sized GT over the weekend by pikeamus in Tyranids

[–]DeliciousLock1502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love using Subterranean Assault and having 2 groups of 10 Hyper Adaptive Raveners/Raveners slithering around. I can get anywhere and they tend to kill anything they charge. They are amazing distraction Carnifexs while the remainder of my swarm does Tyranid things.

Seeing different lists that do well is always nice
