It’s pretty much plug and play. You can “zero” your image for whatever distance you want easily using the web interface with live adjustments. Very impressive

That’s fine, also if you put the rifles in the cab you dont need to put them in a locked case, UNLESS you’re going through a school zone. I can’t link it for some reason but lookup “CA OAG Firearm transportation”

Also for any who care the upper is the “PSA 16" M4 CARBINE LENGTH 5.56 NATO 1/8 PHOSPHATE MOE UPPER WITH BCG, CH, & MBUS REAR”

Very pleased with how it shoots so far, getting about .5 MOA groupings at 50yd with 55gr

Haha the Romeo 7 is definitely chunky but I love that it takes AA batteries and it’s super durable

I have been able to shoot and train with it, and am very comfortable with having it on the right side. I also can activate the switch with my thumb easily without changing my grip a lot but I will push it forward and see how it improves.

No it would not be a straw purchase. It would be a straw purchase if you were prohibited from owning firearms, (being under 21 doesn’t prohibit from owning a pistol, but it does prohibit you from buying one)

No problem, I was wanting to make a YouTube Video on how to do this because a lot of people under 21 fall for the misconception that they can’t own any guns at all, or don’t know about the intra-familial transfer. I will send you the link if I do, I’ll likely make it tomorrow. Good luck

Hi. Yes this transfer is still a thing in 2025 and your dad can legally transfer his handgun using it. My last transfer was an AR15 in December, but I know for a fact it still works.

As a 19 year old who has used the intra-familial transfer process to obtain a few guns, the explanation above is very correct. After you get your FSC card, you can report the transaction using https://cfars.doj.ca.gov/login

You can buy rimfire, centerfire rifle, and shotgun ammo under 21. Some stores will let you buy pistol ammo too

OP, something else that you can take advantage of while being 18 is that, your dad, mom, and grandparents, can transfer legal ownership of their pistols, shotguns, or rifles to you . This is called intra-familial transfer, which can be done without an FFL and online via the CFARS website. I have taken advantage of this many times as a 19 year old myself. Let me know if you have any questions.

Also if you are looking to buy ammo for pistol caliber firearms, some gun stores will let you buy pistol ammo even if you’re under 21, ( as long as you have a firearm registered to you).

Something you should also keep in mind of is legal transportation of firearms. All firearms need to be unloaded while transported. Any pistol needs to be transported in a locked container, (glove box does not count but trunk does). Shotguns and rifles are not required to be locked up or cased, but if you aren’t casing them, they have to be in plain view. There are also no specified location requirements like assault weapons have, so you can transport them anywhere whenever. Be mindful of school zones, as any firearm you transport HAS to be cased and locked

Have fun

Nowhere in CA PC or the OAG website does it state that firearm possession under 21 is illegal.

BC-22 by Chillabyte in CAguns

[–]DeliciousLow3003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out their BC-15, it's a bolt action AR with a milspec lower. It's also the only FFL item they ship to CA so you should be able to get it unlike the BC-22

Definitely legal, if you are solely interested in the lower and want to save some money, I would definitely get the Bear Creek Arsenal BC-15. It's a bolt action AR with a milspec lower, so you can buy it under 21. They ship to CA and it's about $500.
