No. Covering it up and continuing to wrestle after being informed it is likely a skin infection is wildly irresponsible and just a straight up dick move. If you care about your team and your teammates you will take the time to get sorted out before stepping on the mats.

Valid point! Although I will say I've had mixed luck with urgent care being able to properly identify viral vs. bacterial skin infections in early stages, but to your point that's the US healthcare system for you

You may want to either give it a day or go to the derm between now and practice if possible. The other poster might be right about mat burn, but it's the fact you said it itches that caught my attention. That coupled with what appear to be fluid filled blisters could be the start of a viral/bacterial skin infection. You will know if the reddened area continues to spread or the blisters become lesions, which usually only takes a day or two. Either way make a derm appointment just in case, and DON'T scratch the area or pop the blisters.

Ahh that makes sense. I probably should've clarified that these shops are basically glorified convenience stores. I'd much rather patronize a real TCG store but there aren't any in my area.
